Well, talked about crossed wires. BooBoo is working a swing shift and text he was coming home for a “matinee”. I thought that meant ‘adult happy time’ 🍆💦🍆. Uhm it was code for “make me a sandwich 🥪 would’ya?”

Hoo-man! You has breakfast. We like breakfast, too! Serendipity!
Why does the Facebook Messenger camera have an Anime Sex Doll filter?! #sexdoll #filter #saturdaynightathome #imayhavehadadrink #SexyandIknowit
I’m not sure whether to chalk it up as a #SeniorMoment or a “teenager confronted with a rotary phone” moment. I decided to listen to a Louis TAPE that I found in Momma’s stuff. I spent a few moments trying to connect my BLUETOOTH headset to an 80’s cassette player...😳🤔😂
I see you are eating pizza. I like pizza too....
A little bit shy and a little bit silly today....
Sheldon, my usual camera ham was feeling a little bit shy and silly today. Sheldon is unusual as he when he wants petted he will come and stand with his paws on your leg until you pet him. Now, that’s not that unusual, right?
The unusual part is unlike most little lap dogs who want picked up and put on your lap NOT Sheldon.
If you pick him up when he wants petted his ears will go back and he’ll tense up his little body like he’s waiting for the worst. He wants to jump back down and assume what I call his “PET ME” position and then he’s happy as a lark.
Coffee Table Books kind of gay ..
When I was a young gay man I always pictured myself as the edgy, interesting, fun coffee table books kind of gay. People would be titillated and amused by how edgy and fun they were. People would flip through them while enjoying a nice martini or glass of wine. Hmm... Now, years (okay, many years later) they reside on a desk in my office. And, and we don’t even have a coffee table anymore!
It was definitely a Gatorade day. This migraine just won’t quit. I thought that I’d classy it up and drink it out of a glass... uhm country chic?
I don’t think that I want to know.
I went to bed early last night with a bad migraine. I took some Advil and Gatorade and went to sleep.
I don’t know what craziness BooBoo and the fur babies experienced after I went to bed but this is what I woke up to find.
BooBoo’s underwear in our hallway and the fur babies had thrown most of their food out of their bowls.
I’m just gonna tidy up and not ask.
Birds in a nest or Toads in a hole?
I guess the name depends on where you are from. Believe it or not I have never had nor made this little dish in my entire life. Well, until today.
When the gentle chimes that I’ve started using as my alarm tone went off the cooking muse flashed images of this dish into my head.
Due to my partner’s hours I’ve been having to make more breakfast themed meals as of late. I’ve run through the gauntlet of things one can do with breakfast foods.
I couldn’t bear to waste the cut out circles of bread. And, none of the how to recipes had a suggestion for them. SO.... the cooking muse popped up again and those circles became toast points topped with cottage cheese and chives.
I’ve been looking for my watch and bracelet since I came back home from Momma’s. The watch’s battery had died while I was taking care of Momma during hospice and I just never had time to go get a new battery. When I came home I discovered that I had a new battery, but couldn’t find the watch. I went through the bags, boxes, and purses that I had with me; and no watch. I had gone through the boxes and containers of Momma’s stuff that I had thought the watch and bracelet might be hiding in. Nope.
TBH, I was laying down because the insane weather fronts had given me a migraine last night and I was still feeling it this morning. My mind kept leaping from thing to thing and suddenly it leaped upon the image of the bag that I had packed this watch and bracelet in. And, then it leapt to the container the bag was in... Now, I had gone through that container a few days ago and didn’t see the plastic bag with the watch and bracelet in it.
After my mind circled back to the images again for what seems like the 15th time I dragged my headache out of bed and went to look.
What did I find? Yes. The watch and bracelet in the plastic bag inside the container...
Yay! And, bonus the battery that I had found in my craft drawer was the right one and it was still good! Double YAY!
I felt like Fred G. Sanford early this morning. G for going onward....
I startled awake from a disturbing dream and just as my sleep infused eyes flipped open a notification popped up on my phone on it's bedside stand flooding the dark room with BRIGHT light like a lighthouse showing a ship the way....
Random Thoughts from the Laundry Room.
My partner has been working a lot of overtime lately to cover our bills. I love him for doing that for us. I took over the laundry, our normal clothes and his work clothes. That’s fair right? He’s done our laundry for many years. Laundry was his thing while grocery shopping and cooking were mine.
Things that I’ve discovered since taking over the laundry.
- Washing machines in my day didn’t self adjust their time. I could set a timer and go down to the laundry room and find the machine to have completed it’s assigned task. Now, now they adjust the time based upon, well, I don’t know what factors the machine bases it’s adjustments upon, but it adjusts the time. Which is why I had time to ponder about all things laundry room related.
-Why do washing machine and dryer control panels feel like I am attempting to land an airplane? You have to hold your finger on the start button like it’s a fingerprint reader before it will start the laundry. And, why does a dryer need a damp dry beeping signal? I thought the dryer was broken for nearly a week before discovering that setting.
- My partner still considers the laundry room his territory. He pops in randomly to see what I have done to ‘his” laundry room. I took the initiative to clean out the small cupboard above the built in folding table and move all the detergent, Oxi Clean, dryer sheets, etc on the folding table UP INTO the small cupboard.
I get an angry message text message about how could I have used all the detergent, dryer sheets, etc and not told him so that he could get more on his Wal-Mart run. How in the hell was I doing laundry without said items?
I sent him a text with a picture of the opened cupboard along with an explanation of Uhm, we aren’t out of them I just moved them into the cupboard where they logically should go...
- I found a work shirt from an old job of his hanging at the far end of an indoor clothesline. The shirt is in kind of a dark part of the laundry room. Said work shirt is from a job he had approximately 8-9 years ago... I send him a text asking if it’s okay to discard said work shirt. I get a panicked phone call back saying “NO! It’s not in the way there. Just leave the shirt ALONE!” Uhm... okay... hey, we all have our things. I don’t get this thing but it’s not my thing so I don’t have to get the thing. I just shoved the shirt back to where it was. We shall not discuss the shirt again.
- I’m relaxing with the fur babies watching television. In comes a disgruntled BooBoo wanting to know what happened to the pile of change that had been on a shelf? He was saving that to take to the bank one day. Uhm, it’s in the container on said shelf where the change had been piled....
- He has not yet noticed that I have cleaned all the cobwebs from the rafters of the laundry room ceiling or discarded the many, man,y many used dryer sheets from under the dryer and corners of the laundry room. I’m kind of waiting for that shoe to drop....
- Even though I’m now doing the laundry I still fold our underwear in his preferred way. We had many discussions and petty re-folding of the contents of our underwear drawers because I was NOT doing it the right way. Apparently, the only acceptable way is the way he learned in ROTC training in high school. I finally just went you gotta pick your battles. I let his OCD win over my OCD on that one.
YAY! The washer is finally done. I guess it’s time to toss the laundry into the dryer and do something more exciting... Oh, yeah don’t start me on the debate going on about that I like to use two dryer sheets to a load of laundry and he only uses one....
It’s time ...
Momma died six months ago. I’ve finally gotten to the point where I can deal with some of the boxes of her stuff that I brought home from cleaning out her apartment. I’ve been putting it off but now we need the room in our house. The boxes are making getting around my office, guest room and garage a little difficult.
In a way the delay in dealing with the boxes has been a good thing. Now, there is a little distance in my feelings. I can look at the things more objectively and discard or pass things on that I just couldn’t part with while packing up her home.
In that vein packing up a loved one’s home when they die is a horrible, heart wrenching experience. It’s kind of like you are dismantling their life. Every one has those items that they’ve saved from their past that mean something to them but when they pass it just becomes stuff to someone else. Some of Momma’s treasures I knew the story behind but there other things that just had to go somewhere.
You find yourself apologizing to the deceased for discarding or passing along their treasures. I must have said “I’m sorry, Momma” way over a hundred times while cleaning out her apartment.
And, so today I begin the next sorting of Momma’s things. Some of the things just need to be put in the trash. Some of them can now go to a thrift store. Some of them are being worked into places in our home. It’s easier now. I don’t have that Ahhh! Momma loved the knick knack that someone gave her 40 years ago from their trip to ... It may have brought Momma a fond memory but it doesn’t evoke that same feeling in me.
So, as I was composing my first blog I thought that I needed a new profile picture. When i took the first one I noticed that one of my pieces of what I term my eccentric thrift store art collection was in the picture.
So, I thought why not try it with a few of the pieces. Yeah, I’m not in love with the pics of me but it is a nice introduction to some of my collection.
So, it begins....
Well, now that the NSFW purge has made my daily visits for, uhm, visual stimulation a moot point, perhaps it’s now the time that I will do what I was going to do when I first downloaded the Tumblr app. And, that is blog...
Somehow, I never really got into blogging on here. I started out thinking it would be nice to blog again. Pre-Facebook I used to have a blog on Multiply but when it sold out and became some weird sales/spam site I moved to Facebook, but Facebook’s platform wasn’t really conducive to the blog format.
When my Momma entered hospice I did use Tumblr (some) to document her journey and mine through her hospice. However, as Momma’s decline accelerated I did use Facebook more. I found sharing the happy moments and some of the sad moments through my social media helped me keep my sanity.

I wonder if all those older people lambasting young people for always taking selfies with their family and friends are the same ones lamenting that they don’t have any pictures of their deceased family and friends?
