Your eyelids open slow and sleepy, the soft glow of sunlight peaking through the curtains greet you.
You let out a soft sigh as you start to wake, shuffling deeper into the soft warm quilt.
The arms that ever so gently cradled you, now pull you closer. You tilt your head to see him and plant a soft kiss on his chin. He shifts and in turn places a little kiss on your forehead.
You lay there, warm, safe and ever so comfortable in his embrace. You inhale deeply.
You’re pulled in tighter. “Just five more minutes.” He mumbles into your hair.
You hadn’t even made a move to get up, in fact, you’d only just started thinking about it.
He loosens his grip as you turn over to face him. The gentle light of his eyes glimmers over the blankets around you both. You wrap your arms around his shoulders, resting your forehead to his.
You twist your fingers around the end of his hat, the bell makes a mellow chime as you do.
“That’s so annoying.” he grumbles as he tucks your head under his chin.
You can’t help but giggle.
“It’s been five minutes.” You whisper.
“It’s the weekend.” he protests.
“I still have things to do…”
You go back and forth trying to hide your cheeky smile and a mischievous laugh.
That was it, that was enough, You reach over and tug his hat, pulling it right off his head.
“Oh no you didn’t.” He Scoops you up. “Now you’ll never escape.”
You laugh as he swaddles you into a blanket burrito. Lay after layer of softness, you’re completely cocooned.
“How could you?” You pout.
“You made me.” he chuckles as he wraps his arms around you, the burrito.
He kisses your head. “Of course I do.”
“Ok well I really do actually need to do some chores….”
“Nope, You're stuck here for as long as I want now.”
“No, You stole my hat, this is your punishment.”
“I love you, I really do.”
“Good because you're stuck with me.”
