Goofs aside, I was watching a video about the rise and fall (and further fall) (and- oh god) of Concord, and that got me thinking about the good times we all had on Overwatch. I never really did give this blog a proper sendoff.
I guess the reason I stopped posting was that the magic was gone for me after the historic bungling of the OW2 launch. I know plenty of people still play, and I'm glad you can still enjoy it, but for me I just don't have that same thrill that I did back 9 (!!!) years ago when I first picked the game up, just in time for the first Summer Games event.
I still go back and read through the old facts, a lot of them still make me laugh! I'm happy to see the posts still get a little trickle of activity, someone discovers them for the first time and shares them with their friends.
For those of you that were holding out hope that I would one day return, I'm sorry to keep you waiting for so long. I have no intention of making new facts, but I'm not going to delete the blog either. I'd like to leave this up as a memorial to the Overwatch That Was, the Overwatch that got me and countless others to hop into a 6 stack with your buddies. Or brave the wilds of solo queue. Or keep grinding for that gold gun, or that sick new event skin for your main.
I'm still on Tumblr, though. I just started a new blog for one of my other great passions, record collecting, which you can check out at @therecordblog. My main account is @slorestgreen if you weren't aware, but that's mainly just reblogs and not really "content".
Anyway, I hope you're all doing well, keep doing what you love, but don't feel obligated to continue forcing yourself to do something when the magic has gone.
Peace!!
