-- If it wasn't for what had happened to Bob, there was no way Cherry would have dared venture into Greaser territory on her own. But now, she had no other choice. "I don't know, this just seems like a place where a lot of his type would hang out." What she means is that it's dirty and disgusting.

-- "If you're sure?" her voice is hesitant and laced with concern, but she doesn't want to bother her, "...I'll just go, then?"

"I guess I’m lost. I was looking for the band room, but I ended up here, and I’m pretty this isn’t it."

--"Yeah, you've somehow found yourself on the entire other side of the school. I can take you there, if you want."

     He had been hunched over a pool table when he noticed      the voice directed at him.  When his eyes finally decided      to meet the holder of the voice — after another shot of his      pool stick cracking against a ball — Tim scoffed.  ”What’s       it to you?”

-- She can't help but be a little intimidated. He's a lot more tough-looking than any of the boys she speaks to. "Nothing, really, I just need to talk to him about something." Cherry's more than aware that she's not welcome, but she needs answers.

— “You must be properly whipped, then.” Ace said, uncurling his fingers to view his bruised and bloodied knuckles idly. “Anyone that sits back and watches their boyfriend drink themselves nearly into oblivion before hauling off to kick the shit out of Greasers would be, I suppose.”

"More or less." He mutters, before pushing off of the pole quick enough to spit a mouthful of blood underfoot.

-- "I'm not whipped, I --" she's having a tough time protesting, but not because he's right. Because it's hard to explain. "You wouldn't understand. He's not like that all the time," she pauses, "And if you think I could do anything other than get myself pushed to the sidelines once he gets going, you're more stupid than I thought..." Cherry trails off for a moment, and her voice softens, "He's not the one who fought with you, is he?"

"Well, that's more than nothing. You should be more careful."

    “Y’can ask your waitress, I’m off the clock.” Her tone was dull, the words coming out as she waved the apron in her hand lightly.

-- For a moment, she only sits there, stunned by the girl's tone. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bother you." Bob looks irritated. Cherry hopes the girl runs home.

-- She knocks on the stall only because she thinks she can hear someone crying. "Hey, are you okay?"

Abby pushes the cart backwards, not bothering to see if she’s going to hit anything. The boy was spoiled rotten. His small hands grabbed whatever and threw it into the cart. “I’m fine, yeah.” She said as she grabs mac and cheese.  “I got asked over and over if we could have kids so, Finn here came along.” She ruffled his curls. He looked a lot like his father, but he sure as hell had the boldness of his mother.

"How ‘bout you? I haven’t talked to you since," She cleared her throat. "Bob." Although they were never even remotely friends, his death did have some effect on her.

--"Well, he's real cute," Cherry laughed, gesturing to her son in the front of the cart. "This is Andrew," she introduces him only because she's obliged and hopes she isn't subjecting herself to further interrogation. 

"Yeah," she agrees, the boy's name still sending a shiver down her spine. "It's been a while, but...I've been okay. Life goes on, you know?"

-- The gas station is always crowded this time of day. Which makes the fact that she and Bob are arguing at the top of their lungs twice as embarrassing. "If you don't like it, you can walk home!"

-- "Hey, um..." she pauses, looking around the dive. She sticks out like a sore thumb. But all of the events as of late have taken her out of her comfort zone, "Is Dallas Winston here?"
