"Sebastian Castellanos, if you know what is good for you and your pelt you will stop this right now."
&. realfirecracker
"Don't make me get the hose."
I’m with you brother, till the end of the line.
SEBASTIAN || JOSEPH
A Most Violent Year (2014)
♛♛♛ oda.
He won’t have it.
Prisoner or not, he’s going to see Sebastian. They’re going to get out.
“I’m perfectly calm,” he retorts, mouth set in a firm line. Thrashing and struggling would only bring in reinforcements, masked men like the ones who carried him away from those God forsaken tubs. Instead, he stiffens, fists curled atop the sickly white sheets.
“—Why am I still here?”
Joseph has his suspicions, the fears swirling deep in his gut, but he wants to hear it from her.
"The doctor will be in shortly," she informs. "He'll give you clearance if he deems you fit to leave, and not one moment sooner." A note of finality hangs on her breath, signaling the end of that line of questioning. Instead, she moves to a new one: "Is there anything you need, detective? Water, food, medicine? How is your headache?" Not do you have a headache, but how is it. Myra has been around long enough to know that migraines are the most common side effect of STEM exposure.
♛♛♛ beloved.
He doesn’t respond immediately, just stares blankly ahead of himself into the thinning darkness. A groan rolls out of the back of his throat at her response, obvious displeasure in his voice.
“ That’s not funny, Myra, “ he eventually replies with a shake of the head. Trailing off, he swallows a lump in the back of his throat and is promptly reminded of just how thick the blood between his teeth is. The idea of it used to disgust him but… he’s started to like it.
“ You’re right, it could have been worse. It could have been so much worse, “ he stops to wipe some dirt out of his eye, but there’s barely a space of skin clean enough to do so on his forearm. “ … I’m sorry. “
She shakes her head slowly, and looks at him like only his wife can. Her hand is soft against his cheek, a stark contrast to the ever-present stubble. Sebastian doesn't have 5 o'clock shadow so much as he has a prickly face to match his personality. "Don't apologize to me," she says softly. Sebastian will never have to apologize to her for anything. "Apologize to Bambi over there." Sebastian hates it when she makes light of the situation, but what else is she supposed to do? He's not a monster; he's her husband. And she'll remind him of that day after day, hour after hour until she expires.

“Mommy, I’m scared!”
“Lily, it’s alright. I’ll catch you.”
“Mommy!”
“I promise… Pinky promise.”
“… Okay.”
“Ready?”
“Mhm…”
“One… two… three… Jump!”
Her daughter’s small body weighed little, but Myra Castellanos added an exaggerated oof for show once Lily jumped safely into her arms. The top of the playground set was five feet off the ground—a terrifying feat for a child.
Lily clutched tightly around her mother’s neck, stubby fingers digging into the neckline of her jacket.
“See? I told you I’d catch you.”
That night Myra dreamed Lily grew wings and soared over the playground.
—
“MOMMY!”
The screams were overtaken by the billowing smoke and flame, unstoppable heat consuming everything in its wake. Exits blocked by the crumbling structure, Lily could do nothing but shriek and cough and cry. Her babysitter collapsed at her feet, lungs filled with fatal smoke. She was alone, terribly alone.
“I’m scared! Mommy…”
Her throat seized and the coughs choked her.
Sirens blared, but they would never make it in time.
And mother would bury a tiny coffin.
—
Shadows. Empty, faceless shadows crept along the walls. Their forms held no meaning or purpose. They simply existed. Blank slates.
“Mommy…” one them feebly whispered.
Myra’s hand stretched to the wall, grasping at anything tangible from those dark, dark shadows.
“Mommy…”
There she was. Brown hair like her father’s and sharp, blue eyes like her own. The dimple in her chin and slim shoulders were exactly like a yearning mother remembered. But she wore no beaming grin, nor a bright, playful gaze.
No, fear was carved deep into her, that form existed among the shadows.
“I’m scared…”
“It’s alright… I’m here, Lily… I’ll—“
The shadows quivered and sprung forth a pair of sinister, jarred hands. They snatched Lily up and away from her reaching mother. Screams vibrated off the walls.
“YOU STAND WITH MOBIUS.”
–
Light jolted Myra awake, her eyes slow to adjust to its ungodly blare. In the doorway of her office stood a mask, his white suit matching the sterilised décor of Mobius HQ.
“He want to speak with you, Agent Hanson.”
“I’ll… be right there.”
‘I’ll catch you.’

The cat watched curiously as the human approached, keeping still as to show that he had no intention of leaving. Though at the human’s question, had he been able to laugh he would have. “Mreow~” He said softly, his tail swishing in amusement, he didn’t belong to anyone. If anything, humans belonged to him~
Well-manicured fingers reach slowly to first allow him to sniff, then behind his ears to give him a scratch. “You’re such a handsome boy. I’d take you home if I could, sweetie,” she coos. Sebastian would likely scare a cat right out of the house. And while the image of a 600-pound werebeast chasing a cat brings a smile to her face, she doubts the small feline before her would enjoy the experience. (Plus, Seb might lose an eye.)
♛♛♛ castellanos.
“ – No, that’s not what I fucking asked,” he snaps immediately after, quick to cut her off before she can feed him another lie. “ I asked you who you are. I want a name. A title. Not some workaround, not same face. I don’t need another mask covering up the truth, I need an answer. “
There was no way in hell he was looking at his wife right now. It wasn’t possible. Myra was gone, dead even – she wasn’t sitting in the seat opposite of him putting on the face of a woman who’d never seen him before in her life. Myra couldn’t have forgotten him, and she’d never turn her back on him either. This whole situation was just… too unsettling to be real. It couldn’t be.
“Right now, you’re part of my investigation. “
Her lips twitch downwards. It’s a tiny crack in her otherwise impassive expression, regarding the detective's firm words and sharp gaze with a thin, polite smile. A lesser being would flinch. “Myriam,” she replies. It’s not technically a lie. “And I advise you watch your tone, detective. MOBIUS is attempting to comply in whichever ways we can, but we do not suffer insolence.” The disdain in her tone could be distilled to a bitter spirit. Sebastian could drink it.
♛♛♛ STARTER CALL?
I am sorely lacking in threads. Please like this for a short starter!

He’s not, but he is.
Everything down to the smallest detail from head to toe was Joseph Oda, except his mind. Similiar to static from a radio or a tv, Joseph’s consciousness was a distortion made up of ill-will and inner demons. It smirked.
“I’m a little offended that you think a gun scares me.”
And, that she has the right to question who it is and isn’t.
Myra grits her teeth. Her nervous sweat makes the gun difficult to hold, and internally she curses years of working under MOBIUS softening her to situations like this. The Myra Joseph knows wouldn’t flinch under the gaze of something not quite human. Then again, she’s certain this is not her Joseph. ”It’s not the gun that should scare you.” And what should? Her, a glorified nurse? Himself? STEM? Even she’s not sure. All she knows is to watch her step.
“ So what you’re telling me is that we’re pretty much up shit creek? “
Myra plucks burrs from her husband’s hair, carefully untangling their sharp hooks from the individual strands. It’s somewhere a little after midnight in the middle of one of Krimson City’s small forests, surrounded by the shredded remains of animal life and the stench of carrion heavy in the air. ”It could be worse,” she tries, pulling a particularly difficult burr from behind his ear. There’s blood on her, blood on the grass, and blood on Sebastian above all else. ”It could have been the zoo.”
All of this is wrong.
He must still been in that hell hole. That’s the only plausible explanation Joseph can come up with as he tugs on the bed straps once again. The sterile, white walls bearing down on him are nothing but an illusion—something created from a distant memory.
This has to be another one of Ruvik’s tricks…
“I need to see him,” Joseph protests. The spikes on the EKG by his bedside sharpen as his heart drums against his chest. If he can get to Sebastian, he’ll know whether or not this world is the real one. Joseph aches, longing for answers, longing to have the static piercing his skull leave.
“Let me see my partner.”
Myra narrows her gaze in what Joseph might recognize as annoyance. She’s a bit older than she was when they last spoke, a few new wrinkles adorning her eyes and mouth that are only emphasized by her faint frown. “Not possible,” she says. Her tone betrays her mood more than her expression does. “Please stay calm, detective. You’ve been through quite the ordeal.” From her sturdy gaze to the heels planted firmly on the ground, Myra Hanson does not seem inclined to give an inch.
The cat gazes at the human curiously from where it sat not to far away, the tip of his tail lightly twitching in thought. At least the human was female, just like Juli, so that was a plus, "Meow"
Oh, what the hell. There is no job less dignified than writing tickets. And while her aspirations may be through the roof, Myra Hanson is young and green. This is her place until she can prove she’s worthy of more and not one second sooner, police chief’s daughter be damned. She approaches him carefully, hoping she doesn’t scare him away. ”And who do you belong to, handsome?”
