it’s april fools day today but here i am, a fool everyday
Beetlejuice (1988) Directed by Tim Burton
concept: me, eating strawberries and peaches on a hillside where i am far from everything i know
“haha yeah” [i awkwardly chuckle pretending i know what you just said]
I just imagined a jeopardy category of solely vine references
“I’ll take vines for $200 alex”
“hurricane Katrina… more like ____”
“What is hurricane tortilla?”
Do you think people with LED headlights know that everyone hates them? Like…really hates them in an oddly personal way? Do you think they know?
I am still amazed that this is just something we do like it’s genetically coded

Everyone wants you to try the scrapple. Why is it always a slightly different color? You wonder how long you can keep politely declining before social pressure dictates you try just one bite. You wonder if there will be any going back.
Humid summer midnights are pierced by blood-curdling, unrelenting screams from the woods. Everyone says it’s the owls. You’ve never seen an owl here, not once.
It’s four a.m. and you’re at Wawa. Several other people are there, clutching receipts and waiting for their orders. “Number fifty-eight!” calls the man behind the counter. Everyone checks their slips, repeating the clerk’s words in a reverent, droning whisper. No one claims the hoagie.
Stink bugs aren’t native; they have no predators here. As the last of the snow melts you hear one fly past your ear, its brittle wings beating furiously. Soon everything will be tinged with their effluvium, and nothing can stop them. You taste their stench on the back of your tongue.
They’re calling for snow. Your hands begin to shake a little. Do you have enough bread and milk to appease them?

it blows my mind how literally NOTHING ever works out for me
Do you think it’s possible that some people are born to give more love than they will ever get back in return?
