every time someone agrees with fitz’s assessment of amber in assassin’s fate my eye twitches a little. dude. You Are Falling Into The Trap. you are doing what he does. you are drawing a boundary between facets of beloved’s self that does not exist to justify your complicated feelings. you are idealizing one version and disparaging another. you refuse to acknowledge the traits and decisions you dislike as reflective of more than a role they are playing. beloved is irritating in assassin’s fate because they are traumatized and terrified and actively hide behind an exaggerated version of amber’s personality to cope but the persona they adopt would not change their fundamental decisions which are based on their desperation for this mission to succeed. it’s so silly to say you don’t like amber or the fool was better. they’re the same person. don’t pmo

the problem with taz balance is you first listen to it as a naive high schooler like "oh, funny dnd podcast made by those mcelroy guys i see in tumblr memes all the time! and they apparently have gay characters too! let me check this out! haha his name is taco that's so random XD" and nobody could have warned you that a decade later you'll still periodically think about lucretia and her martyr complex and be stricken with the urge to start gnawing your own limbs off

this was actually inspired by my favorite fic getting updated after over a year and then i learned that they were really gay in the new quest (i dont play anymore so i barely know whats happening) and it made me really happy because i miss them every day
