Sometimes, I like to write hurt fiction style narration and stories, so I wrote one today.
I hope it doesn't break your heart, but I cried a lot writing this one down 😓 :
The room had forgotten what life sounded like.
Silence clung to every corner like dust.
A body sat motionless in a wooden chair, its head hanging forward. Blood traced its way across the pale face, drying into a deep crimson stain. The lifeless eyes had rolled upward, frozen in a final, unreachable gaze.
The companion walked in without a word.
He stopped in front of the body, stared at it for a long moment, then slowly lowered himself onto his knees.
His hands rested gently on the dead man's legs.
He looked up at the face he loved.
"...Are you finally tired of me?
A faint smile tried to appear.
"I'll tell you everything...
Everything I've already told you before.
You always played football with my soul...
Kicking it away whenever it came too close.
I kept bringing it back to you."
His voice became quieter.
If this is really how you chose to leave...
Then I don't think my heart can survive it."
I'll die long before my body ever does."
The silence answered him.
"Why is your face so red?
Why are your eyes reaching for a sky you'll never see again?
When did the darkness become stronger than your light?"
His breathing became uneven.
"If one look at you is enough to steal every piece of peace I have left...
Then you've already taken the rest of me with you."
His tears fell onto the cold floor.
I keep telling myself that.
How am I supposed to believe death...
When you're still sitting where you always sat?"
His shaking hand reached toward the blood on the lifeless face.
Then, with unbearable care, he wiped it away.
His fingers trembled violently.
"You were like a flower...
Not because you were fragile...
But because your existence made everything around you feel alive.
Their fragrance still lingers in my hands...
I was only beginning to bloom."
He lowered his forehead against the dead man's knees.
"I thought I had already left this pain behind.
More tears soaked into the fabric beneath him.
Even for a single heartbeat...
Can you hear how broken my voice has become?
Or are they the only things you've left behind?"
