We have been waiting for a while, but NOAH was finally spotted in the village today. People heard whispers that he is a REAPER that is hellbent on [ fixing ] the veils. Will he succeed? Only time can tell. Until then we will keep a close eye on him as he listens to “HELLO” by EVANESCENCE.
~ THE BIOGRAPHY ~
tw: child death, depression
Noah has always been known for his gentle nature. Ever since he came into existence, he’s held a certain kind of compassion for the souls he reaps. He always sits and talks with them patiently, working through their issues with dying and making sure they’re truly ready before passing them on. Because of this trait, he was assigned to children exclusively. He’s able to talk them down from their fear of death with his kind voice and genuine care for their well-being. This blessing, however, is also a curse.
Although it helped him to know that they, specifically, would go to a better place, the toll of watching their families grieve eventually began to take hold. His heart grew heavier each time he reaped a child’s soul. He hated that he had to take these children away so soon. He tried to make the transition as painless and peaceful as possible for them, but it hurt to see such small, innocent souls snatched from life before they really had a chance to live it.
Even so, he remained diligent with his task, caring more about taking away the children’s fear than his own pain to see them go.
When the veils tore, and he found himself thrust into the land of the living, he wondered if maybe this could be his reprieve. But once he learned that if the veil was destroyed completely, no child could get into heaven, he became concerned and decided to work to try and fix it. In his mind, no child deserves to be stuck as a ghost or thrust into hell. Thus, he does his best to assist those in the fight to fix things.
In the meantime, being physically incapable of ignoring people in pain, he took a job as a therapist at the clinic. It hasn’t helped his compassion fatigue to be in this line of work, but again, others are more important. He does his best to maintain a self-care routine so he doesn’t get too burnt out, but it’s not uncommon to see him answering calls or meeting with patients outside of normal work hours. He simply cannot help himself.
