Ice lolly Experiments on a sunny day!
My mum had made berry and mango fruit sorbets and used my ice lolly makers to portion them out. On a hot summers afternoon yesterday I suddenly had the idea to photograph them on a glass tray accompanied with some ice and frozen fruit. I had to act quickly before they melted but that was half the fun! Preparing beforehand was key though, making sure everything was set up and knowing what I wanted to do before getting the frozen items out of the freezer! For a small project I’d say it’s a success.

Jewellery Shoot
This week I took part in a jewellery shoot for a jewellery designer who works opposite to the company I work for. She saw me taking pictures for them and wanted me to take some images for her!
I went equipped with a softbox and role of white backdrop and my camera. With a simple set up and some jewellery blocks I was able to create some lovely images of Margaret’s handmade jewellery that looked as if it was floating! The whole idea of the shoot was to capture the shine of the diamonds as they are the main focal point of the jewellery.
These are my 4 favourite images, I love the rings and the way the diamonds shine.

Trying out the local delicacy! These waffles had chocolate and caramel sauce and were the lightest and fluffiest waffles I’ve ever tasted!

A delightful trip to Bruges
At the beginning of April I spent 4 days exploring the city of Bruges. We took the Eurostar straight to Brussels and then took a local train to Bruges. We arrived at the hotel - which had a pool - and relaxed until dinner.
We ate in the square opposite the famous Belfry tower and soaked in the magnificent view. The next few days consisted of exploring The Chocolate Museum and Brewery, testing the said chocolate and beer, which I can say both tasted amazing, and checking out some of Bruges architecture and landmarks.
This 15th Century world heritage city feels a world away from the modern world with its cobbled streets and 18th century windmills. We took a boat trip along the river and got a brief overview of all of the sites and the best places to go.
Bruges oozes a tranquil vibe and really feels like an escape from normal life. Plus, the food and drink is great, what more could you want!
