My Rize cosplay from Shuto! I’m going to re-make the dress, so maybe I’ll bloody this one!

I had such an awesome time at Shuto this Saturday! I got to see a bunch of my convention friends and chill with some of them, so all in all, a great weekend. Also, some guy in the hallway gave me this drawing of Kaneki (looking_for_absolution on IG) and it’s really great wow! I got two polaroids from photographers and honestly, if you want me to love you, polaroids are the way to go. And I also got this sweet lil fortune cookie that happened to have my favorite line to quote from Gurren Lagann in it c: I’m really glad that I could make it out for the Saturday!

Hey I'm planning a mega evolution Altaria cosplay and I'm not sure of the most secure way to attach the poly fluff ( stuff you put in stuffed animals) should I use glue or sew ? If anything could you recommend me a good strong glue ?

I feel like the toothy side of velcro would work really well! I don’t know what the design of your outfit will look like since it’s gijinka and designs vary, but i think that if you sew multiple toothy velcro strips to where you want your fluff to be, you could build the fluff onto it easily and even attempt to glue it to places if need be.I’ve never done anything like that before, so maybe test it out first. I also haven’t glued or sewed polyfil, so I’m not sure how that would work...But fabric stores/etc sell Liquid Stitch which is a fabric glue, so I think that would work as well. Feel free to ask for anything else if you want c:

Important!

Okay guys, this is pretty ridiculous that I even have to address this, but here we go. At Shutocon 2014 margarettearthurkirkland​ and I cosplayed maid Eren and maid Levi with pocky swords.

Margarette came across this picture of Levi, Eren, and Mikasa with pocky (x)  and thought it would be fun to do it with the maid dresses (I don’t know if that’s the original picture, but that’s what it looked like).  When we made the pocky swords, I had searched online for ideas how to make them, and it seemed like no one really had made them before. Which is different now because if you search it, you’ll find snk cosplayers with the pocky swords, so they were either inspired by the same photo Margarette found or they were inspired of a picture of us that’s floating around without knowledge or credit to us (if you look at the dates on their photos, everything comes after Shutocon 2014′s date)(we were also told a picture of us in these costumes was popular but we have never seen it so we don’t know).  BUT the problem is this: Margarette received anon hate about stealing the pocky sword design because the anon thought she stole the idea from another cosplayer. Except back when the idea sprouted in December 2013 and was executed in March 2014, the only snk pocky sword related thing that we found prior to our swords was that one picture. Like I said, this is ridiculous that I even had to address it because the whole “we probably did it first” thing sounds so petty, but when hate messages are being sent, something needs to be said.  They are damn pocky swords lmao literally they’re just giant pieces of fake pocky...We don’t own that idea and really it’s not a big deal who makes some to cosplay with. It was meant to be fun for us and whoever else made and/or makes them.

Your Kamishiro Rize cosplay is incredible, what did you even use to harness the kagune to yourself? It looks like the material and shape held up incredibly well. It's one of the better ones I've seen done.

thank you c: i used a simple back brace to attach the kagune. it’s super comfortable cordova back support belt^i’m not sure if that’s the same one that i purchased since i bought mine in the store, but it’s very similar. i removed the shoulder straps though.

so, i picked up my fabric for lucina (fire emblem) the other day c: i’m super excited to start working on it. it’ll all be made from scratch, even the boots uwu
