"I noticed some doing this. Figured I'd give it a shot~"
reborndarkness-rebootâ:
Ooze seeped into the room through the floor, silently rising and taking form behind the twin tailed fox. Venomous green eyes stared down at the moebian before dripping hands and tentacles wrapped around him suddenly.
âHello Miles~â the distorted voice whispered into Milesâ ear.
Miles was in his thoughts, mindlessly flipping through the assortment of horror movies on the screen of one of his computers. He didnât lie, in the end, he liked horror movies and was intending to watch one while he cleans the room.
A plan which was put on hold by the two hands and multiple appendages that suddenly held him in place. The first touch was a surprise and the mage nearly jumped with a small startled yelp, his ears lowering defensively. But the moment he recognized that one-of-a-kind voice, Prowerâs shoulders relaxed.
âMephiles! Chaos, you scared me!â The vulpine said with a note of disapproval in his voice, yet tilting his head backwards to nuzzle it into the familiar white chest fur.
The dark god chuckled at his loverâs yelp, pulling him closer and nuzzling his nose into his neck. He formed a mouth on his muzzle and peppered gentle kisses to the foxâs neck and shoulder.Â
âTis the season, my dear.â He whispered. âMy favourite mortal holiday. A night of fear and darkness. This celebration was practically made for me.â He gently stroked the back of Milesâ head, placing a loving kiss to the top of it.Â
âI do apologize for startling you, my love. But the opportunity was too delicious to resist.â
"Ah yes, a day when grown people throw themselves back into child mentality. Whoo-hoo. Well, at least the horror movie marathons are a very pleasing background noise at times."
Ooze seeped into the room through the floor, silently rising and taking form behind the twin tailed fox. Venomous green eyes stared down at the moebian before dripping hands and tentacles wrapped around him suddenly.
âHello Miles~â the distorted voice whispered into Milesâ ear.
To my Sonic Friends, sorry.
Rp for @reborndarkness-reboot
A small dark gray hedgehog wondered through the woods. The poor child had been lost for as long as she can remember. She doesnât even know her name, or if she even has one.
She only remembers the woods, and something drawing her in further and deeper, almost as if it was calling her. The child wasnât paying attention and she tripped on a fallen branch before tumbling down an incredibly steep hill. She stuck her right leg out in an attempt to stop the fall. Unfortunately, that only resulted in a loud crack and intense pain.
When she stopped falling at last, all she could do is sit there holding her broken leg and cry. She was hungry, hurt and scared.
Mephiles and Iblis had decided to take a walk through their forest. Not only to enjoy the scenery and grab a few snacks, but also because Iblis had sensed something that they felt like they needed to find. Their stroll had been quite normal until they heard something tumbling down a nearby hill, then the loud crack! As they followed the direction of the sounds they could hear the growing sobs of a child.Â
âA child?â Mephiles spoke with mild interest. âWhat is a child doing out here?â
Iblis approached the young hedgehog on all fours, their venomous green eyes inspecting her closely before their ears perked sharply. âDark One! Smoke Child is one Iblis sensed!â They informed. âSmoke Child is being of fire!â
âIs that so, Iblis? Well then, suppose weâll have to take her home with us. With that broken leg, sheâll surely die out here.â Mephiles said calmly.
reborndarkness-rebootâ:
The startled scream he expected but the look of awe caught the warlock off guard for a moment. Heâd never been looked at like that. Merfolk only saw him as this evil entity that sought their downfall, never anything like this. He barely showed his surprise physically, only raising his brow in interest. His suspicions were proven right. The fox wanted him to teach him magic. Oh the things heâll make the mage do.
âSo you want me to teach you magic. You really think you can handle the way I teach?â He asked, his voice calm. Moving away from the entrance he circled around the room and settled on the opposite side of his crystal cauldron. He pulled the bag of seaweed seeds from his luxurious chest fur and untied the opening. âI will be your mentor, but only if you agree to drink this potion.â He said as he grabbed a handful of seed and tossed them into the cauldron, completing his potion.Â
Scooping some elixir with a bottle, he returned to the butterflyfishâs side and offered him the potion. âThis Potion will let you see the near future. If made correctly, this potion will let you see a happy moment to come in your life. If made incorrectly however, you will see something terrible that you will have to face.â He looked into Milesâ eyes. âHow badly do you want to be my apprentice?â He asked cleverly.
Miles froze. A potion? Just like that? The young mage looked over the bottle offered to him and carefully took it in his hand. Was the warlock testing his resolve? Or was it just simple poison to kill the fools like him, who came to get more than what they deserved?Â
Even if so⊠Prower felt like he couldnât refuse. This was his only hope. Not to mention that he can just reach for his uncle if needed. Merlin might be an old geezer, but he wouldnât leave his family in danger, right? The fox hated gambling with death, but at the moment he had one track mind. Do it or forever stay a failure. He wanted to be somebody. Not an unknown disappointment. Doesnât matter the cost.
The hesitant eyes looked up to meet the bright and intense eyes of the other. It was like looking at two enchanted emerals, one of which was held in front of the most magestic red coral. Come to think of it, if he takes the potion, there is a chance that the two of them will spend a lot of time togetherâŠ
And so, the batterfly fish drank the entirety of the potion in one gulp before closing his eyes and tensely waiting for an effect.
The Warlock watched with great satisfaction as the mortal gulped down the potion. He had told a half truth. Yes the potion will make Miles see something in the future but it was a warped future. It took from his memories and from his deepest desires and created a vision of something that the fox secretly wanted. It took his enchanted feelings for the octopus and amplified them, showing the mage a vision of passion and pleasure. IT showed him intertwined with the other, enjoying each other. While the potion flooded the newly made apprenticeâs mind with sinful thoughts, the dark warlock leaned close and whispered into Milesâ ear.
âI am your master now. I am Master Mephiles~â a toothy grin grew on his muzzle. His tentacles coiled around the mageâs tail, a thick ooze seeping from them. They marked the yellow-orange fins with black stains, claiming the butterflyfish. Soon the boneless arms retreated from the otherâs body and moving Mephiles away from his student. He waited a moment as the potionâs effect faded.
âYouâve passed my test, my student.â He said before turning to a large book on a pedestal. He waved a hand over it, is palm glowing a deep purple. He turned his palm up and suddenly a smaller book materialized in his hand. It was to be implied that he had copied the larger book. Though it wasnât known to Miles that this was an altered version, A spell and potion book filled with falsities. Every spell and potion did something different than what was told in the book. Mephiles returned to Miles and offered him the tome. âI have copied my book. These potions will only work in my cauldron, these spells must be practiced in my home. Take this book and memorize The Spell of Longevity and the ingredients for The Potion of Passion.â
In Milesâ copy, the spell promised immortality but in reality it granted the sense of life while not actually giving it. The potion promised perfect satisfaction but in truth it simply heightened oneâs senses, especially that of touch. âReturn here tomorrow and we shall practice what you read.âÂ
The Mysterious Octopus
@two-evil-tails
âGrr! Iâm all out of Seaweed seeds.â The dark cephalopod grumbled as he shifted through his cabinets and shelves looking for an ingredient he needed. âThis potion requires seaweed seeds!â He roared in frustration. composing himself, he floated toward the mouth of his stoney cavern. âIâll need to go to the merfolk city and obtain more.â Draping a cloak over his head and shoulders, he departed his cave and started on his way.
Once he neared the border of the city, the dark octopus clamped his tentacles together and shifted his colours, the tips of his appendages shifting to mimic a lion fishâs tail. Swimming into the city was always awkward like this but he had to to keep from attracting attention to himself. He moved toward the market and up to a seed seller. âOne sack of seaweed seeds, vendor.â He stated, flatly.
âSure thing.â The vendor scooped some seeds into a sack then measured it. âThatâll be fifteen sand dollars.â
âFifteen? It was ten a few moons ago.â
âIâve had to start charging more. The price for the kiosk went up.â
âFine. Take your money.â The disguised creature hissed as he slid the money to the vendor. As he started to float away, he quickly checked to make sure no one had taken notice of him, his eyes becoming visible for a moment before he hurried to the exit of the city.Â
Once he was a sufficient distance from merfolk eyes, he loosed his tentacles and sped back toward his cave.
Prower looked over the pot he was holding and growled, oh so very tempted to throw it into a geyser. The person who advised the merman the store he was in, clearly couldnât tell an antique from a plastic replica. Everything in the store was just a copy. And not even that well done one!
Without a second word to the employee, the butterfly fish smashed the door open and made his way out. In his search of strong magic, the young and inexperienced mage traveled far and wide. He did his best to find at least a short mention of genuine magic anywhere he could, but alas all was in vain.
Prower was already slowly swimming forward, dreading his return home empty handed when suddenly something stopped him. Miles could feel it! The magic! A strong source of magic was coming from somewhere close!
The butterfly fish looked around and his eyes instantly stopped on the suspiciously looking person in the hood, who was arguing with the vendor. It was him. The one who was about to leave⊠No! Whoever it was, Miles had to ask questions! He couldnât just let such an opportunity go!
Prower decided to watch where the stranger was going before attempting anything stupid. Carefully, as carefully as possible, the researcher moved after the hooded figure through the city. It was hard not to notice that they were heading out into the dangerous sand territories outside.
Was the person nuts?! Being there could actually kill them, after all, thatâs why no normal mermaid or merman would ever exit the city.
However⊠It wasnât just a regular merman. The mage could hardly stiffen a gasp as the stranger suddenly unraveled his tentacles. The thing was that⊠Miles knew exactly who that was. Before him floated the evil soul-eating warlock from the rumors. No wonder he was radiating so much magic! The warlock of the dark caverns was real⊠And there was no way that Prower would pass on such an opportunity.
Despite his heart racing painfully with fear and excitement, the fox forced himself to calm down and darted after the hooded person, staying as close to the ground as it was possible to avoid being noticed.
It was his new and only hope. The hope to finally fully discover and unravel all the secrets and power of the magic he inherited from his uncle was now overwhelming. For the life of him, the mage could not lose that octopus!
It wasnât long before the dark warlock reached his destination, a large underwater volcano. It seemed near dormant, the occasional flurry of bubbles spewing from the top and rising to the surface. The octopus slipped into an opening in the side of the bubbling mountain, his dark colouration almost perfectly hiding him against the blackened rock.
He had detected the otherâs magic energy a long while ago and kept track of it the entire journey. In the ceiling of his volcanic cave rested crystals similar to those that sprouted from his head. Tossing his cloak onto its hook, he swiftly climbed up and nestles himself on the ceiling. His âguestâ was going to get quite a surprise when he came in.Â
The wait gave him time to think. There had to be a reason why this morsel willingly chose to follow him out into such dangerous lands. Magic was uncommon but not impossible. Could this merman have detected his power? That couldâve been possible, which meant that this merman sought to learn from him. He knew of the rumours and stories that the merfolk had about him. Such a prime opportunity to take advantage of those stories. He could use this âstudentâ for his own benefit. Oh the plans he had that he could use him for. It brought devilish joy to him.
He watched as his follower entered and allowed him time to take in the room before slinking down in front of the only exit, effectively blocking the butterflyfish in. âMmm⊠has no one told you not to follow strangers?â He taunted, his voice dark and smooth. âYou never know who they could be.â
The volcano, huh. The merman paused slightly, watching as the hooded figure entered the hole in the wall. That was⊠Fitting to be honest. Nobody knew where the warlock lived so normally they would say that his layer is somewhere inside of the deepest crack or under the tons of sand in the cavern where one could barely find any waterâŠ. But⊠Volcano was close third, even if dormant.
Miles bit his lip, pacing a bit in front of the entrance. What was he to do? Was he really going to enter?.. Well, in tales the warlock wasnât a murderer. But he was good at deceiving people and making them do his bidding. Prower looked at his hand. Was magic really worth it? There might be no turning back. The doubt overtook the fox for a second, however⊠One face that he immediately remembered stood fresh in his memory.
His uncle, Merlin Prower. His cold sight, to the last bit unwilling to see any worth in his nephew. He never believed in him. Well. Now it was finally the time to shove it into his ghostly face! He doesnât need him as a teacher! Miles himself can obtain the enormous power that the old fart could never even dream of!
Pumping himself up like that, the fox finally entered the hole and⊠Was immediately startled by the figure that dropped form above covering the entrance.
âAaa!â Startled at the voice the young mage swiftly turned around to finally face the warlock himself. And⊠For a moment he felt like his heart skipped a beat. It was like the majestic spirit of the volcano himself came to meet the butterfly fish. His head was crowned with the same crystals that seemed to be covering the walls. His eyes were shinging like the gems found in the chests on sunken pirate ships. His voice was so smooth, it felt like syrup. It was⊠The most gorgeous merman ever created, Miles was sure of it. For a few moments his eyes couldnât tear themselves away from the other, wide in awe. But then the fox finally gathered himself and looked away.
âI⊠I mean, my apologies, great warlock! I only followed you to ask for your help! Will you please take me as your apprentice?â He spat it all out in one go, nervously choking on his own words.
The startled scream he expected but the look of awe caught the warlock off guard for a moment. Heâd never been looked at like that. Merfolk only saw him as this evil entity that sought their downfall, never anything like this. He barely showed his surprise physically, only raising his brow in interest. A Sunset Stroll
@two-evil-tails
Though Mephiles was the God of Darkness, he found that some light world wonders were worth his time. Sunsets were a prime example. The shift from light to dark, as though the sun was yielding to his darkness. One such sunset, the dark god chose to spend it with his beloved Miles. He wandered the halls of his castle, each step like an echo of sound and of light as his energy rippled into the crystal palace. He knew where his fiancĂ© was, he could feel him through the walls and floor. Mephiles stepped into the mageâs lab and smiled softly as he spotted his partner working away.Â
âHey Miles. Youâve been working all day, my love. Why not take a break and join me on a small walk?â He asked, approaching the fox and wrapping his arms around his waist. âIâve got a couple things to show you, my dearest.â He whispered softly.
Any plans for Halloween?
âScare the Mortals to death then steal their souls.â Silence stood for a long moment. âThat is a joke. Iâll be spending it at home.â
To Mephiles, what kind of powers do you have? To Iblis, what's your favorite kind of food? (If you can eat that is)
âMy powers? To put it concisely, I can control everything darkness and infect anything crystal. I can melt into the ground and instantly teleport where ever I desire. Iâd tell you the finer details of my powers but you wouldnât be able to comprehend them.â Mephiles stated.
âFood?â Iblis thought it over for a moment. âIblisâ favourite kind of food is.... THE BLOOD OF THE INNOCENT!!!!â There was a pause, âAnd birch bark.â They wagged their tail happily.

âMmm~ Perhaps one day you will change. But always remember, my dearest Miles. No matter your form, you are always precious to me.â Mephiles purred deeply before pressing a soft kiss to Milesâ lips. Newly taloned fingers slipped down to yellow hips and hoisted them up, helping the foxâs legs lift over and around dark hips. Breaking their kiss, the dark god lowered his head and peppered hungry kisses along his thickly furred neck. âMmmm⊠Nothing and no one can or will ever replace you, my Miles.â He whispered continuing to lavish the mageâs neck in kisses.Â

Family reunion
@reborndarkness-reboot
Arianna was slowly making her way through the familiar forest, clutching a crystal that hung around her neck. The pink hedgehog stopped at the opening of a dark cave. The entrance was lit up by the sun but only for a little bit before the darkness swallowed the light.
Just as she was about to risk going in, something in the distance caught her eye. She slowly turned around and looked. It appeared to be coming from a castle in the distance.
Curiosity got the better of her as she made her way in the direction of the castle.
Arianna recognized the the crystals at once. For most who see them run away in the opposite direction in fear. To them, those crystals ment danger and stay away. Not her. To her, the said home, comfort and safety. She missed the one she knew who made them.
Arianna knew that only one person could make a fortress out of such material. It meant her dad was awake. She wondered if he missed her, or even remembered her. The last time they talked, he was dying and was being wrapped in a cocoon made from his darkness.
She was joilted from her thoughts as a fire creature came out of the trees. She immediately knew her fire would be no match so she was preparing to flee until it spoke. She paused. There was no hint of danger in the creatureâs voice. It called her by a nickname that her uncle gave her. But he was just an orb. But then... she had been away a while, a lot could happen between now and then.
âUncle? Is... is that you? But, how do you have a body?â She asked. Her voice was rough, as if it hadnât been used in a long while.
The tall being lowered themself onto all fours and joyfully pranced toward their niece, the fire atop their head extinguishing itself as they bumped their head gently against her body. Their long tail wagged fast behind them as they nuzzled their niece lovingly. âIblis missed Young Fire. Dark One does too.â They said, clearly still lacking in their mortal vocabulary. âIblis steal Magic Stone, used power to create body. Had Dark Foxâs help.â The explained as best as they could.
âYoung Fire, want to see Dark One?â They asked before looking toward the castle, a massive door suddenly starting to slowing descend to allow the pair access. âIblis lead Young Fire to Dark One. Dark One take Young Fire to bedroom for her.â Iblisâ large intimidating visage seemed to melt into one that looked like a puppy. A large fire puppy that could easily trample a person. They were so excited to have Arianna back and it was blatantly obvious.

The closer she got to the large castle the clearer its form was. Soon it became clear that the building was made of massive purple crystals that glowed with a dark energy. The area around the castle held a feeling of dread and danger, yes some how also familiarity to the pink hedgehog.Â
From the thick forest and around one of the castleâs corners came the rustling of bushes and trees. Something huge was coming. An orange light filtered through the leaves and tree trunks. Soon the branches parted and revealed a large being of fire. Flames poured from their head endlessly, eternally thriving without needing to be fed. A trio of venomous green eyes locked onto the small female, at first defensively before softening.Â
âYoung Fire?â They asked seeming to recognize her.
