I made this today and it turned out great! I halved the recipe because all I had was a pie dish, which ended up being the perfect size for a half recipe‘s worth of mixture, and the grocery store didn’t have poppy seeds, oh well. I definitely second “use extra honey”, I doubled the honey (ie didn’t halve it when I halved everything else) and it was still a little on the less sweet side.

This cake does not taste like anything else I’ve ever eaten, it’s wild. But I like it! Here’s my seedless flat pie dish version:

Update: in a twist Cato could not possibly have prepared for, it turns out that while this is pretty decent fresh out of the oven, as leftovers that have been refrigerated and then microwaved, it becomes incredible. I’ve gone from “I wouldn’t be opposed to eating this again” to “I can’t wait to make this again” quite literally overnight.
