I should be missing you, but I don’t. The way you only see me in a room full of people The strong presence of your protection Your voice and the instant relief I feel when we talk The soft touch of your hand holding mine I should be missing you. When did the current become too strong? How did arms length turn into out of reach? I’m left with memories and the broken bond between us I became less important, your priorities shifted, and that’s ok But I wish you hadn’t jumped the gun You reignited the spark and allowed it to diffuse before I could enjoy it’s beauty You stopped asking how I’m doing And so I stopped too I stopped waiting for your call I stopped feeling hopeful when I saw your name appear And then I stopped missing you And even though I should..
