" would you relax? the dude is just loitering in an empty parking lot at night. last i checked, standing around wasn't a crime. great — now he's looking at you. would you stop staring? " admittedly, the vague outline of the man with the gaze directed towards the pair of them looks remarkably sinister in the dimly lit parking lot. steve grips max's arm gently but firmly — not because he's afraid, but because if she's right, they're gonna have to make a break for it.

AT FIRST, EDDIE GRINS. Steve’s very animated, and he enjoys a good performance as much as the next theatre kid. But then he sees how genuine the anxiety is, and his caretaker instinct kicks in. Steve’s been through a lot. They both have. He doesn’t want to give him a panic attack for Halloween.
Eddie raises a placating hand. “ Easy, big boy. Old Eddie won’t let any ghosties get ya. You know, for what it’s worth, none of the spirits I’ve contacted have been malevolent. They’re always either chatty, or confused. I can put this away if it really spooks you that much, but- ”
He holds eye contact, giving Steve his most charming smile. “ Do you really want to spend the best night of the year playing board games? Or do you wanna do something fun? ”
steve's already made two mistakes tonight — the first being his decision to spend halloween night with hawkin's resident heathen, and the second resulting from his inability to use common sense. it's eddie freakin' munson — what did he think they were going to do? carve pumpkins and admire one another's costumes ( eddie still hasn't complimented steve's impeccable ken doll impersonation, probably because he's possessed himself already )? of course he would spend the freakiest night of the year doing the absolute freakiest shit anyone could possibly do. steve really needs to strengthen his deductive reasoning skills. " yeah? and what are you going to do against a ghost? blast metal music until its invisible ears bleed? " he crosses his arms defensively over his chest, punctuating his disdain with an eye roll. under the circumstances, eddie isn't exactly the best savior he could hope for — not that he needs any saving. still, as much as all this shit spooks him, there's a very dumb part of steve ( a part he's sure he'll be cursing out later ) that's kind of interested. the stupid thing probably doesn't even work, anyway. ghost aren't real. he's getting himself all worked up over a piece of cardboard with words on it — he can just rip the thing in half if shit actually gets serious, right? " fine. we can play the damn demon game, but if you get possessed, i'm getting the hell out of here and you're on your own, munson. "

just wanted to make a quick post regarding my activity here and on my steve, because i was hoping to be able to be on a little bit more often but tbh i might need some time. without going into too much detail, i was pretty recently diagnosed with a chronic illness that effects both my physical and mental health and lately i just haven’t felt up to doing much. i’m super sorry to the people waiting on replies/responses to ask memes if i’m a little slower than usual, i’m just struggling atm. thanks for your patience :-)
