Soon enough Pain stepped out of the shadows, looking at the young boy.

“So this is the boy?”

His voice didn’t show any emotions, it was dark and mysterious, just like Pain himself.

“I’ll leave him in your hand for now. We can give him a partner later.”

he nodded as pain showed up. “his name is haku. it will be good for us to take him on our next mission, considering his background with the mist and karatachi yagura.

he looked back at kisame. “speaking of which, we should be going soon.

Pain gave a slight nod. He knew Itachi will keep the boy on a shirt leash until they will earn his trust. Itachi was good at these things.

"Perfect. Now you can leave to your mission."

He turned around and disalpeared completely.

Kisame heard about this boy a while ago. Everyone knew what Zabuza did and why did he need the boy. There was no secret and because of that exact reason he knew it was bettet to be careful. No one knew what thia boy was capable of, but one thing for sure: whenever the Anbu tried to catch him they never returned alive.

“I think we’ll be good friends, right Haku.”

His evil smirk grew wider and followed Itachi and the boy inside.

“Itachi, do you intend to take the boy with us to the next mission or you leave it for Pain to decide?”

Hearing the familiar voice sent shivers down his spine. It was him. Hoshigaki Kisame, the one who murdered his master and became the wielder of Samehada. That sword was dangerous, one of the strongest from all of them and if he isn’t careful enough it can drain his chakra. It was better to stay away from this man for sure.

“Kisame… i know you.”

He tried to stay calm, this Akatsuki really knew what they were doing. Collecting the most dangerous ninjas from every villages. Now it was clear Itachi wasn’t an average one either. Kisame wouldn’t partner up with a weak ninja.

he frowned at kisame’s words towards haku. “kisame, don’t add to the boy’s stress,” he said shortly. “pain will decide if he comes with us, but i would prefer to take him along.”

as he walked inside the cavern, he scanned the dark. deceptively empty, but zetsu and pain would be watching, he knew.
