i do think merlin and arthur had the perfect dynamic. an episode would end with arthur being like merlin you're my closest friend and confidante and the greatest man i've ever met. and merlin would be like i'd kill and die for you we are two sides of the same coin. and then you'd start the next episode and it would begin with arthur smacking merlin upside the head and calling him an ugly peasant and merlin calling arthur a fat idiot.

Hey tumblr, I’m… alive? I don’t think I’ll get into specifics about why I’ve been MIA (again) from this account, but it’s a new year and I want to find joy in fandom again! It’s yet another “Arthur returns” concept, with Merlin looking a little scruffier than Arthur remembers. He finally has time to listen, so he asks his old friend to tell him everything. It’s a long and sad story, but the ending is… at last… happy.

Merlin and Arthur’s first meeting was seriously so iconic, like Arthur was trying his snooty rich boy “do you know who I am?” act and Merlin just turned around and was straight up like “idk, a lil bitch??” and Arthur was all “I guess i’m here and ready to fall in love”
