I'vebeengoneforeverandIfeelhorribleforit.
I let work and school take over my life and I stopped working out all together. But last week was my last week of class. So now I have no reason not to be up early in the mornings again being angry at Cassey whilst doing Blogilates. :)
I'm so happy to be back on this tumblr, I've missed you all!
oh boy
the last couple weeks have been rough. I started off with a cold two weeks ago, which over the weekend turned into a sinus infection last week, and I also had a fever. If I wasn't at work, I was on the couch or in bed. And there was also a lot of family issues that were super distracting. But I'm back! I mostly stretched this morning, and did a few donkey kicks. I'm going to focus on taking the stairs a lot today so I want to make sure my muscles aren't too tight when I do. :) I've missed this tumblr; I looked at it a few times while I was sick, then just stopped signing on because not being able to exercise was bumming me out. The thing about being that sick is, you HAVE to rest, or you won't get better. But the other thing about being that sick is, you feel so exhausted all the time that the thought of working out makes you feel even worse. I just hope I don't get that sick again because it really sucked. But like I said, I'm back! Yay!
Alright, so I've been sick since like Monday. I went to the doctor yesterday. They swabbed my throat and I don't have strep THANK GOD, but I do have a cold and my doctor said it'll take about 4-7 more days to run it's course.
WAT.
I'm so exhausted. My throat is so sore, and I'm coughing and sneezing...how the heck do I exercise when I have a hard time breathing? lol Last night I did some stretches and leg lifts, but even then I was winded so quickly. I just want to be better so I can get back into my routine!
Let's hope I'll be back to normal by Monday. I'm really trying to rest and be good to my body and give it what it needs to fight this cold. Vitamin C, fluids, rest.
Blah.
Well, my husband had a really bad day. He mentioned Chipotle earlier, so tonight I told him we could go. I got a burrito bowl with brown rice, black beans, chicken, hot salsa, and cheese....and chips and guac. I ate half the bowl, and half the chips, and half the guac. Now I'm super stuffed. Ugh. This was supposed to make him feel better, not make me feel like a big blob!
I'll just make sure I work out tomorrow morning and take the stairs all day!
Non-Food Rewards!
It is important to treat yourself special when you reach a fitness goal or weight you have been working towards. Most people though make this reward a food item which is not the best idea….
Give some of these a try and put your rewards beside you goals so you feel like you are working towards something! :)

I work on the 5th floor, I should never NOT take the stairs. But you know, it's so easy to make an excuse not to! No excuses today, stairs all day!
6:52 am, Saturday morning
I should be in bed still, but I had to be up early to drive to my hometown. I'll meet my sister at her house, and from there we're going to my dad's to convince him to not sell the house my mother is still living in. It's a messy situation involving their divorce which has been going on for almost 10 years. I'm totally stressed out in a way I've never really been stressed out. My father owns the house, and he wants to sell it. My mom (like me) is a procrastinator, gets easily overwhelmed, and doesn't like asking for help because she feels she is a burden to others (thanks mom! I love having these traits..) so she is just now trying to do what she needs to do to be able to buy the house, but my dad refused. So my oldest sister and I are going to go and ask him to allow us all time to help her so he can sell the house to her. My dad is a very greedy man, so I'm not expecting him to agree to this at all.
So here I am totally stressing about this family problem, and also thinking about how I normally deal with stressful situations...I eat. Normally, I would drive through Starbucks on my way there, get a breakfast sandwich and a super sweet drink. Then, I'd have a coke at my sisters. I'd also take one for the drive to my dad's, along with whatever candy or cookies I could find at my sisters. And after leaving my dad's, whether it goes well or not, I will use as an excuse to eat again. I'm kind of freaking out in terms of how I'm going to handle my eating habits. Of course it's too late to get advice for today as I'm leaving in 10 minutes, but I'd love to know how you guys handle stress, if emotional eating was a problem for you, how did you learn to stop it? What did you do to prevent it? Did you still eat, but made healthier choices?

Weigh In Week 2
Well, I decided to weigh in last night after dinner (I know...) and I was around 195, which is totally fine with me! The scale lets me know of my weight change. My muscles let me know that I'm getting stronger. My eyes can see the physical changes of my body. The scale is one of many guides that tell me I am making progress.
I really like that I'm not obsessing over the scale like I always have in the past. Thank you, Tumblr friends, for helping me realize that!
