You see that woman in the way back with her arm up high? That’s my 👵 grandma, Katherine. She’s done a lot for me over the years, and even more so with my parents and helping them out. She did so much good for everyone near and dear to her and yet she still was afraid she messed up. It was in her... dying moments that brought her children and grandchildren closer to her to comfort and care for in return after so much. She passed away from a long term illness, back in November. I know, it’s been so long since she died so why didn’t I make a post about it then? Well, it was the first family death I ever experienced. Seeing someone I cared for and cared for me unconditionally is... difficult. She died while in her own bed and I wasn’t even there for it. Next morning when the funeral home came to take her body, the stairs in her home would have made it difficult to carry her down... so I had to carry her down myself. Not only seeing a dead body of a loved one but having to move it was by far the hardest thing I ever had to do and will never forget what it means to me... sometimes I wish it didn’t go down like it did because I just miss her that much. However, it’s because of her that I’m here today and I can’t thank her enough every night I go to sleep and every day I go out and get my shit done.
