My newest creation of a little known livery of the "Snowhog", and it wasn't as nice as others, as it was applied hastily as an experiment. Ground crewmen in the photo below perform maintenance on an A-10A during exercise Cool Snowhog around 1981 in an experimental arctic camouflage. This paint scheme done exclusively for the exercise representing the Air Force's first test of forward basing A-10s in Alaska. Overall, the plan called for the Air Force to fly 16 close-air-support sorties in support of the 3rd Scout Battalion of the Alaskan Army National Guard. #ThunderboltTuesday
