From One Champion To Another|| Red&Moon
Starter call: @mizukix The Alolan night was surprisingly cold, a refreshing change from the raging heat and humidity of the daytime. The cities also seemed to come alive at night, light’s glittering in the darkness and tourist flooding the streets in relief of the cool weather. Red, who had been dragged by an overexcited Green into the Hau'oli shopping mall was at a loss. Somewhere along the way, he had lost sight of his best friend and was left to fend for himself, silently wandering the large building while trying to find anyone who could use sign language. Just as he was about to give up and try his luck at the customer service counter, he felt someone bump into him and apologize. He blinked, confused not seeing anyone at first until he looked and quickly caught a young girl who seemed to trip backwards to avoid any further collision with him. He recognized her instantly as the Alolan Champion, but she seemed vaguely familiar.
After helping her get steady on her feet, she looked up at him and a memory rushed across his eyesight. A younger girl, no older than 7 years old tugging on his T-shirt and demanding that he battle her. It had been the first day Red was back home after becoming champion and he had crossed passed with an excitable young girl, determined to become a pokemon master. He blinked away the memory, a warm smiling blossoming on his face. She had done with it, she had fulfilled her dream. He wondered if she remembered the promise he had made to her, that once she got stronger that he would willingly battle her. He was at a loss of what to do however when she got a good look at him and widened her eyes, he wasn’t sure if she understood sign language, so he dug into his pocket. He pulled out a Pikachu themed notebook Green had bought him and quickly scribbled down a sentence, holding it out to her. Do you have time to help me? Fellow champion to champion? I got lost from my travel companion and I’m not sure where I am.
Moon’s not usually clumsy; it’s something of a point of pride for her. So it must the fatigue of her recent travels that’s set in, bone-deep, that makes her drag her feet. Evening window shopping in the Hau’oli shopping mall isn’t supposed to be a taxing affair and yet she can barely keep her eyes open, blindly walking herself into a wall of human and ricocheting off. Breath caught in her throat as she stumbles, the instantaneous cognisance that she is about to land on her ass apparent to her with crystal clarity. This is what she gets for letting herself pull one too many all-nighters in a row. She oughtn’t, she knows, because it turns her into a living zombie. But sometimes it just can’t be helped—
A hand shooting out of nowhere, grabbing her wrist and pulling her steady, very nearly causes Moon to leap out of her skin with fright. If she weren’t already startled into full-consciousness, she would be now, staring up at the person who’d helped her back to her feet. Because she’d know that face anywhere.

Red watched in amusement as the younger champion began to fumble nervously, trying to hide her gawking and obvious shock. Red was accustomed to the staring by now, being a legendary battle legend and former champion often meant quite a few stares from fans and trainers looking to defeat him. However this was the first time he’d ever seen somebody so anxious. He watched as she struggles to find the words to communicate with him, causing a pang of empathy to ring through him. He knew just how hard it can be to talk to people or even interact with them in general.
The younger trainer advised they first check the information desk and he paused at the thought. Why hadn’t he thought of that first? He dipped his head in a nod and followed her towards the desk, avoiding any other patrons of the shopping mall and scanned the crowd for Green’s spiky head, huffing in irritation as he came up with nothing. As they neared the the information desk, the office lady looked up and flashed them with a strained, well-trained smile. Quickly he scribbled on the notepad, asking if she had seen Green Oak and even added a description of him. When the polite woman shook her head, he felt himself deflate and turned back to Moon. He debated on asking her to continue helping him. She may had been on an important arrend as the champion when he stopped and distracted her. Holding his breath he once again wrote on his notepad, slowly lifting it between them for her to see.
Well I guess that didn’t work. If you’re not busy, do you think you could help me look around the mall?
