yes, sometimes it’s taking a warm bath and texting memes to friends and keeping an aesthetically pretty journal.

sometimes it’s crying silently on your couch at 3am, hugging yourself and reminding yourself that you’re a good person.

self care is not always ‘aesthetic’ and cute…and that’s ok. don’t be embarrassed, just do what you need to do.

TW Suicide

A mutual I knew committed suicide recently. I’ve only found out today.

Guys, if you’re dealing with something and you feel alone, please please please tell somebody. Anybody. I know you feel alone and possibly feel like you can’t. Trust me, I know. I’ve been there, and I’m still there. But please, it’s not the only way out. I know it may feel like it sometimes, but it’s not. You can get help, whether it be professionally, or by a friend or family member.

My inbox is ALWAYS open. To anyone. Talk to me about your problems and I will try to help you through them as much as I can. But someone is better than no one.

You are important. You are not alone. You are loved. You matter.

This is so important because yes I’ve been there before. And may I just add: if you see someone you follow is having a tough time, please try to reach out to them.

Ask them if they’re ok, show that you care. Because yes, your words DO make a difference.

A couple of months ago I was suicidal and I was so prepared to just end it all. What kept me from doing that was receiving your kind and supportive messages. It made me “delay” my suicide to the next day, and the next day, and the next day….until finally I was able to find the help I needed and now here I am, still alive and slowly recovering. I can function again, I don’t dread being awake/alive. So yes, kindness goes a long way to helping someone. Be kind, be loving, show you care. It makes it a lot easier for those suffering to confide in you if you’ve made the effort to ask them and show that you care 💙
