Chitter chatter, early morning Conversations starting off The best day I've ever had in a Long time, in several months - German jazz setting the tone For the rest of today - Simple and uncomplicated, And I am content here. - I want time to stop, I Want deadlines to drop So I can stay here for Another five hours, at least. - I'm surrounded by people I feel I should know, but I don't recognize anyone, And no one recognizes me, And it's peaceful.

Right next to the old restaurant that has been My parents' and grandparents' favorite place for many years Is a small redfronted coffee shop that is mine. If I haven't dropped foot in here, then I haven't come home. - My mind has been racing and my thoughts unclear, But as soon as I walk in here they slow to a stroll And once I sit down, they stop for the first time in days, And I can one again begin to ascribe them meaning. - For example: sitting here in the most hipster of spaces In this town hooked on tradition and conformity, I have decided that you will be a parasite And tell everyone you knew me before I was cool. - In a room that smells of good coffee and Tastes of character, I feel safer than I have anywhere else in the town I grew up in. My home is a redfronted coffee shop in Redlands, California.
