Celebrate 20 Years of Tomb Raider at E3

Our #TombRaider20 celebrations continue at E3 2016 with a variety of activities at the show and online. For those of you in attendance, stop by the Square Enix booth and choose a custom #TombRaider20 engraved dog tag from several design options. We’ll be taking the machine with us to other global events throughout the year, so our international fans will have a chance to secure one in the future! We’re also hosting an episode on Square Enix Presents’ annual broadcast, featuring a nostalgic look at fan-favorite tombs from the past two decades.

As for ongoing activities, Square Enix is providing fans with the opportunity to submit a video answering the question, “What does Tomb Raider mean to you?” Fans are asked to submit a video answering how the series has influenced their lives, recalling their favorite franchise moment, a story of how Lara Croft has inspired them or other memories from the past two decades.

In addition to the video call-to-action, Square Enix’s Fanart community in the U.S. and Canada have the opportunity to be immortalized in Tomb Raider history by submitting their works to the #TombRaider20 community art contest. The fanart can focus on any of the iconic elements of Tomb Raider – breathtaking landscapes, long-forgotten tombs, dangerous enemies, and of course, Lara Croft. Classic and modern interpretations of the character are welcomed as are past art pieces from previous contests! Entries can be submitted here and the contest is open until June 17, 2016. The winner will receive $1,000 and have their art featured in a special print art offering to be revealed later this year.

Past 20th celebration announcements have included an official retrospective book – 20 Years of Tomb Raider – and the reveal of a new musical endeavor by original franchise composer Nathan McCree – The Tomb Raider Suite.
