Many years before the first curse was cast, Regina captured Red in hopes of getting some answers on the whereabouts of Snow White. But as time went on and the days of talking/interrogating Red, Regina began to see something new in the she-wolf as Red did in the Queen. Late one night as their usual "interrogation" went, they found themselves in each other arms. Regina let Red go saying she would never forget her. In SB, Regina watches Red in the distance remembering their time together.

But I loved every second of it. Head canon accepted and that is a great story idea.

The reason Regina doesn't look at ruby when she tells her to 'go take yourself for a walk' is that during the curse regina was walking one night and ruby joined her after a fight with granny. they both walked in comfortable. this became a regular thing. eventually they started talking and become closer until one night the walk ended in regina's bed. after the curse broke this stopped and its painful for regina to look at red and not see her ruby.

My headcanon is that Ruby likes to cuddle with Regina on stormy nights, and that when Ruby gets scared Regina kisses her forehead and tells her it will be alright.

Instead of Regina seeing Robin in the pub in the enchanted forest she sees a girl in a red cloak but is too scared to go in. During the curse in Storybrooke she meets Ruby there's an instant connection though neither can figure out why. During the first full moon when Regina sees Ruby in the red cloak she remembers.

My head canon: Rumple was the one who gave Granny the cloak (for a price). Granny never paid it, so it passed down to Red. And as a reminder she was given the crystal wolf charm. When he finally came to collect, she couldn't/wouldn't do what he asked. So Regina stepped in and paid for it. It was the Dark Curse. (It's not good)

Here's a head cannon idea: what if instead of Emma being Henry’s birth mother it was Riley Neal (Meghan Ory) Henry tracks her down & brings her to Storybrooke where she finds her family her granny & her twin Ruby Lucas. And she of course meets Regina Henry’s adoptive mom. Things progress from there

My headcanon is that Ruby like to watch horror movies but ends up getting paranoid so Regina will occasionally sneak up on her and scare her to teach her a lesson. Then Regina like to kiss her and tease her about how she's a scary wolf but is afraid of her own shadow and things that go bump in the night.
