They had only been seated for nine minutes, yes- Rude did count, and the red pilot where already making an escape. He had been around Reno long enough that he didn’t have to look to his side to notice the small shift of exit. The firm hand intercepted almost mechanically. Sending a clear message. And once Reno’s muscles relaxed and sunk down, the glove clad hand were removed just as discreetly.

The smallest sign of a jaw stretch was Rude’s way to tell to his partner that he wasn’t gonna let him leave all the administration work to him -not this time- without interrupting the woman’s speech. He did expect being the one who was gonna fill in most of the papers, double check the facts, and remember what had been said, but this was a two person job. If Reno could survive through the whole meeting he’s sure the redhead will have picked up a couple of things about these new partners to WRO. Being something of worth or not, there could be some gossip fuel to get from here.

Also, he doesn’t want to be left in this small conference room without a trustful ally.

He saw that tensed jaw, he frowned and looked away from Rude. Reno didn’t want to upset or anger his best friend. He was thankful however-- that Rude had removed his hand from his knee. This wasn’t the time or place-- to make actual contact and Rude had risked being caught. That was a power move wasn’t it? For Rude to put his hand on his leg. That was the fist time he could recall Rude doing something like that. Had he really made him angry? By trying to leave? Now he felt guilty and to try and get his mind off of it, he actually started taking notes. 

Gods be good-- he could just, fall asleep. This was so damn boring and it was, annoying the hell out of him. He’d be sure to help Rude later with the paperwork and shit, that went along with it. Looking around now, he took notice of not really trusting the people here. How come it was only him and Rude here? Where was everyone else? They fuckin’ backed out didn’t they? He was annoyed with how, this meeting was full of people, himself and Rude couldn’t trust. No wonder Rude didn’t want to be left alone here. He was however struggling to stay awake but he forced himself to listen and take notes.

Reno was bored out of his damn mind. He hated these meetings, he hated paperwork and he hated sitting down and doing nothing. At least Rude had to also suffer through this nonsense, he was glad they had found seats next to one another. Within a few minutes, Reno wanted to leave. He could read a paper on this later. He started to get up, only to feel that firm hand on his knee. 

Reno went still and silent– not saying anything, just sitting there. His eyes moving from the speech giver to Rude. It was more then clear, that his friend didn’t want him to leave. Reno gave up in that moment, he’d stay if Rude wanted him to.
