Obsessed with this song right now.
I looked everywhere on the page. It was no longer there! That piece of my eye was no longer there.
Done
I finished (and passed) my first year of medical school!!! I'm 1/4th of the way to being a doctor. How strange. I moved out of my apartment yesterday and it was TIRING, but it's over! Gonna move into my new apartment at the end of the month. Until then, I'm at home chilling with the parentals. I learned happy birthday on the guitar today so that was fun. I plan on practicing EVERY DAMN DAY this summer so I can get REAL good! I want to be able to play a well known song by the end of summer.
Also, my research starts tomorrow which is kinda exciting. I'm not really sure what exactly i'll be doing so I'll find out more when I go tomorrow. I also plan on starting my exercising routine tomorrow. Gotta take before and after pix so I can see the changes (if there are) at the end of summer.
So close to the end
About 38ish more hours to go before MY LAST SUMMER EVERRRRR!! I'm not excited about the last summer ever part...just the summer part. Duh. I honestly can't WAIT for this break to begin. An appropriate quote to help me get through this home stretch: "This too shall pass. Like a kidney stone." - Hunter Madsen. Even though I'll be pretty busy with research, I'll have more time to do so many fun things! I made a list of all the things I want to do. Let's be real though...I'll probably get to maybe half the things on the list at most. I'm posting some of the more important things on the list on tumblr so that I feel more accountable for them. Da Summer List:
Practice the guitar--learn all the chords and try to learn at least one song!
Learn French- Do at least one duolingo french lesson a night
Spray Paint space art- learn and do a couple of these projects
Draw a couple of portraits-haven't drawn in FOREVER so I hope I haven't lost my skills.
Start an exercise routine that can be followed in the fall -Work up to at least one full push up by the end of summer lol - Work up to running a full mile without stopping (weak goals i know but gotta start small)
Pathoma- Review topics covered this past year
First Aid- Review covered material, flash cards
OH I signed up to do this really fun 5K in august with a couple of my friends. We're going to be called the Pacemakers (nerd alert!), and this 5k is basically like the show wipeout. It's going to be a blast; I can't wait!
I'm also doing paint nite with my med school bestie so that'll be fun. I am seriously so excited to do some major drawing/painting/crafting this summer. I've gone so long without it that I feel like a part of me is missing =( Also, I have a million books I want to read and movies I want to watch. SO MUCH TO DO, SO LITTLE TIME!!! I definitely have to read A Billion Wicked Thoughts that my friend Anna suggested. I also have to finish And the Mountains Echoed even though that book is going to be so depressing. As far as movies go, I have really gotten into Woody Allen films so I HAVE to watch To Rome With Love and Magic In the Moonlight. Other notable movies I have to watch are HER, Sixteen Candles, Harold and Maude, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and many more! Some of those are classics that I haven't seen yet so they're high on my priority list. By high on my list, I mean they'll be watched this weekend. Anywho, I've dillydallied for long enough. Gotta get back to this renal studying.
Also, YAY MY HAIR IS GETTING SO LONG!!
À la prochaine, amours

Organ Chips Human organs grown on microchips mimic the physiology of the real thing, making them the ideal testing ground for new drugs, environmental toxins and radiotherapy without the need for animal testing. Researchers have already built lung, heart, kidney, and gut chips; and now can add bone marrow microchips to the list. To forge bone marrow’s integral relationship with bone the scientists enlisted help from Mother Nature. Implanted in mice, a ring shaped mould sprinkled with dried bone powder was inserted just under the skin. After two months a disk-shaped bone had formed, which was surgically removed and placed into the microfluidic device, where it was kept alive and pumping for a week – plenty of time for toxicology studies. Pictured is a microscopic image of the engineered bone, which is packed with bone marrow from the mouse thighbone. Scientists are now keen to grow human bone marrow in immune-deficient mice. 4 more days!
4 more days until my last exam before summer break and I'll be done with my first year of medical school! 1/4 of the way to becoming a doctor...how weird. Technically, we are M2s already because we started the M2 curriculum after Spring Break, but I still feel like a M1. My exam is on Friday afternoon, and then I have to move out of my apartment on Saturday afternoon. Soooo busy!! And then I'll start my NIH funded summer research on Monday! I'm not really a big research person, but my PI seems really cool, and I'm hoping I will enjoy the research since it is in a field in which I'm actually interested. Now I just have to find the motivation to soldier on these last couple of days. Renal is proving to be everything I hoped it wouldn't. Everyone was like, "omg you'll love renal!! I got an A and it was so intuitive!!" I didn't take into account that everyone I asked about renal was Indian/brown. I know, I know. I too am Indian, but I guess I missed out on the renal genes. Anyways, time for some Schneider questions!! À la prochaine. Adieu!
Kids today will never understand.

This is favorite song at the moment. It's on repeat. I can't stop. It's beautiful.
If I could marry you, I would do it in a heartbeat without a second thought.
