Okaaaaayyyyy....Sigh...So, i now played through the ending of Ln 3. And...Even though, there was a few details about it, a bit left out.
There is a lot to take in. Though, it is again another tragic one. Buckle up, this is going to be a long read. For as long as I want to get my thoughts out.
EDIT: I just want to say, that all of my thoughts, about the characters, and the world. Is not going to be correct.
Any thoughts, and theories. About the ending, are only what I think. Is all observation.
Any other thoughts, and theories will change. As of at the moment. For this post. Here is my thoughts.
-------------------------------------------
But, however. It is revealed, that Low's friend was infected. The last fragments, of his memories. I want to clear up, that she was in fact, a real kid.
The first time, that they travelled through a mirror. They went through successfully, no issues. Apart from her breaking through and shattering glass, at a dangerous rate.
The second time, they warped through. She still came out, as usual. The third time, that she came through. Was serious.
She took longer than what Low hoped. He begun to get worried about her. She came through, after a delay.
Crashed through, and passed out. Low comes up to her, and started shaking her. To wake her up.
Showing his worry for her, she eventually wakes up. But, admitted a big gasp, scared, and frazzled.
Again, she recovered. Low feels relieved, and goes in to hug her. (That was cute.)
Yet, she would be feeling a bit iffy about travelling through mirrors. (I guessed she would be.)
Bear in mind, this was still in the earlier chapters. Was not aware, of how severe that would actually show. Later on.
The fourth time, that he tried to warp through. He couldn't (The map is a big part of Low's plot. Still, don't know what it intells.
I'm guessing, he was trying to get back home? It looked like he was looking for something.)
When he found out he couldn't warp, because they Mirror was broken.
He drops the scroll out of disappointment. Alone, was trying to assure him, but he didn't want to be comforted just yet.
He jerks his shoulder away, that means he didn't want to be sympathised just yet. And Alone picks it up, and saves it for later.
----------------------------------------
Then...At the final time. Inside the Institute. That's what the chapter is called, things appear more purgatory.
And speculating what kind of history this was. Along the way, you'll hear laughing children. Then meet a viewer looking person.
Im suspecting, that he might be the same bad guy, shown incasing Low. Inside that cell.
Thats a maybe. Unless, with further details below. May be otherwise.
--------------------------------------
Then...For the boss battle. A giant monster, that looks like to be the professor, or institutor. Don't know why he's a giant. But he has to be overexaggerated.
He's got eyes on his palms, so he can carry on seeing you through his palms. It's almost as if, his own hands have a mind of their own.
The Alone doll, is significant. Once you pick it up. It 'Patches.' Up the ruins of the institute. That it really shows the past of a previous date. This is kind of hinted for Low to carry.
I think its meant to represent Lows vision./Past life. (Even though, he is a kid.) God knows how long he's been in there, for. Along the way, you'll see a before version of the institute.
And, in the future. With the alive plants. You keep going.
Then, this is where the ending gets messed up, and heartbreaking 💔 at the same time. The final boss breaks down the ceiling, by tearing off the planks.
Bit by bit, you just have to mind where all of the stuff breaks through. Without getting crushed. (That didn't go so well. Got crushed many times. Heh.)
You'll have to hit the gongs, to disorientated the arms. Then the final mirror, at the end. Was the same one, at the first cut scene. In Low's dream.
This is the part, where things go wrong. I guessed something would go wrong the other night.
Because, i was coming up with my own speculation. And theories about, what this could turn into. That involves Alone. Because, yes that was the same thought. Most people had.
This is what I thought. I thought, what if this whole adventure is going to be Lows doing? Here me out.
I thought what if, along the way. He's going to do something that is going to cause Alone to be. Gone? Or lost? And remembered as a doll.
Not directly, because Low does care about her. I suspected, maybe did he make a mistake. And when he did, he's going to come out.
And regrettably try to 'Fix.' the problem. But couldn't.
Because, he did what he did. He can't change it, and thats why he wound up in a 'Spiral.' Dreaming, and still (Possibly.) Thinking he can still fix the problem.
But, he forgets that he can't do that. So, he continues, and so on. It was similar, but after very deep speculation.
Back to the game. He tries to push her to go through, but she didn't want to.
Because, she remembered how scary it was in there, she thought that she was going to get lost. And got really nervous about it.
They continue fighting, the monster falls down. And breaks the floor.
They fall down, and lands on a small piece of rock, of Alone holding onto Lows hand. For a split second, I thought. "Oh no. Please don't."
But then, that didn't happen. (Phew.) They fall down, and hold onto each other. They are really close best friends, that went down together. Powerful, friendship.
Then, the screen fades to black again, and we see Low again, on that bed. Sleeping with the doll, indicating that this incident caused him to grief. Hold too much comfort, onto that Doll.
He leavs it, (Her.) On the bed, then goes to retrieve his drawings. And picks up the crayons.
When the camera, pans over we see now human Along, sitting there. Waiting for him. He comes back, and gives her the papers, on the bed. And gets her to draw.
That implies, that he is heavily under denial. That is true. He has been drawing with just a memory about her. Then, next scene. We see why.
When the next scene comes up. They are yet again, seen walking up from their fall. It took Low longer. I thought for a moment. Is he dead?
But, then found out. He was just a bit frazzled. Maybe concussed?(A slight theory, because of his judgement.)
They walked past the giant monster. (I'm assuming, he may have been one of the monsters, that had been shown on one of the picture frames. I think.)
He...I was about to say. He might be Otto. But, then I changed my mind. I think, he might allegedly be a psychiatrist.
If not, I'm still referring this boss to be a professor. Or, or. He might included be a writer. Like a journalist. Some profession like that, because of the letters.
When the kids woke up, you'll notice right away. Low's mask fell off. He looses it, and probably ignored it.
As he was too injured to pick it up. Both of the kids, were injured. As you can see them grabbing at their sides, and walking slowly.
This is the part, where things get messy. They come to the prologue mirror. He asks her again, and reasured her.
With reasons, that they have to go through. Because, theres no where else to go. He reasures that, he'll hold onto her. Just with his body language, he asks her to trust him.
She agreed tentatively, and he pulls her in. What happens next was...😣 She gets kicked out. (At first, I thought again.
I went there. I thought, he did it. Because, she couldn't come. That was a misunderstanding. Until I was told that, a friend of mine said, that.) It ejected her out! The mirror, is kinda 'Alive.'
(The cave of wonders, is an example of that.) It accepted him. It kicked her out. I'm assuming, it wanted one host. He comes through the mirror. The mirror broke.
Alone was left behind. "Alone." That was a wide speculation. She realises that, it ejected her.
Probably a bit confused on why it did that, she sees herself, disappearing. And...She vanishes. She's no more. The scroll, that she picked up earlier.
Was going to be passed back, once he's ready. Rolls right beside her remains. And it opens up. While she was remained., dead.
As the camera fades, showing what's left of her. One last time...
------------------------------------
I was about to move on, until I noticed more details on that picture.
I looked back on the screenshots, I took on the album on my Switch. The picture reveals a drawing of Low, and Alone.
Walking up to a house. His main goal, i think he was trying to find a house. (Or come back to his house.) That would have to be his main objective.
With that scene of him trying to warp through another Mirror. It didnt work, because. It was already broken.
He kind of 'Gave up.' On finding his goal. Where, he was disappointed. Alone tries to comfort him. But he refused.
So, it's even safer that Alone wanted to keep ot. To give it back to him. (Or just keep it. Because, he didn't want to touch it.) That what it shown in the end.
After when they got separated. The picture, was left incomplete. They failed. The goal, remains there with Alone. The goal was, torn apart.
------------------------------------------------
Sigh....End cutscene comes up. A different location, not sure what.
Probably, in another spot in the Institution. That will have to wind up in the cell. That being the bed, right beside him.
(Maybe, he was in another spot. Untill, he winds up getting kidnapped. Or maybe he wandered off, after figuring out his journey is useless. That he couldn't go on without his friend.)
Hes seen again, in that room trying to repair the mirror again. To attempt to bring her back. Sadly, that was pointless.
That's what i speculated Low trying to fix the mistake that he did. That was a good guess. That was true.
The remaining of that, is that he is now stuck in a psychological crisis of drawing up these dreams.
Imagining what the fragments was left, of Alone. Playing with the doll. Making up sequences in his head, making up different stories as he draws them.
He may also, that i came up with this theory. How he dreams about things. Is actually, very lucid, and realistic about his adventures. As a sleeping disorder.
He may be experiencing repetitive disorders, like that. Where he dreams about something real. And believes, that it is. And that, he's living in them. Technically.
I think he may have also being experiencing flashbacks of his adventures. With what he remembers. I think the Necropolis, is real.
However, with the 'Spiral.' Parts of it, that he makes up. At night time, section. You'll see some sketches, on the walls.
That appears to be, what he has been drawing. In that hallucinated kind of images.
With his behaviors of him hiding his things, and hiding under his bed. I thought about, that what if he was afraid, of getting seen. Is because, I think he really does not want to be rescued. It looks like, he's willingly.
Refusing to be taken anywhere. Because, he felt too comfortable in his spot. With the thought of him, Imagining Alone. In this. Is true.
What this is revealed to be, is that now. He is stick in this fantasy, of playing adventure with his doll Alone.
Remembering through his flash backs, with his friend. That's what really happened. That, he is now in denial. Stiluck in the denial stage. Of depression.
He is happy, in his place. Playing, and keeping himself cosy with Alone. His now Imaginary friend.
Probably, forgotten to take proper care of himself. Although, still knows how to protect himself.
This is devastating still, who knows how much longer if he is going to survive this.
If he'll be able to get over, his denial and with the grief of his friend. While, he has depression.
And attachment, that he's finding it hard to let go. It isn't something, that he'll be able to do. By himself.
Drawing is the only way, how he copes with it. I imagine, that in spirit Alone. Would have already forgiven him. (I think she understood, that he didnt do this on purpose.)
At this rate, he'd stay this way. Until one day, when he grows up. Who he will turn into, he will not be the same person again.
-I want to mention. This situation, is really his decision. If he wants to let himself out. It's up to him.
‐-----------------------------------------------------
This brings this ending, to The mirrorman theory. If this is true, (As much as this is dreadful to process.)
If the Mirror man, IS Low. That, he is restless and has been snatching kids up from the Mirrors.
Is that's why he's been doing this because, he's been starving for later a friend. For ages.
Since, as a kid. He lost it. For the future, if that becomes possible. Then that would speak a lot of his past.
That would mean, that the Mirror man. Couldn't let go of his old friend/past. Couldn't move on.
Then turned his seeking, to look for other 'New.' Friends, by kidnapping them to satisfy his sorrows. Although, it was never enough.
He again, refused the fact. That he couldn't get Alone back. That, he started to snatching up more kids.
However, became more and more antagonistic. He starts trapping them, and sealing them behind the mirrors.
That in turn, created a warpy illusion. That started testing them out of shape. That's why illusions was created. Because, of the Mirror man's, delusions.
All of that, he can't escape from. It was far to late to change it now. That he will be hunting back and forth. Into the Spiral, forever.
