FYI if your employer does this, if they have done it for a long time especially, you and your coworkers could be owed huge amounts of unpaid wages and it would be an easy suit if there is a paper trail like this and your employer is placing strict requirements on your behavior while not at work. Employment lawyers generally work on contingency. Just food for thought.

A national park I worked at had all the permanent rangers (I was seasonal) basically on stand by for call outs 24-7 or they were penalized on their reviews.

They got tired of it, sued, won, and the nps had to pay back YEARS of back wages for stand by time. Now they are all scheduled and if* you get called out its time and a half.

ONLY because some rangers stood up.

AU where Leon can see the spirits of the dead and he sees the "living" and dead side by side. Spirits trapped in their mutated bodies, unable to be freed from the pain and insanity that Gideon is forcing them to endure, until Leon frees them. They thank him or stare at him confused and indifferent, and occasionally, some fear him because the trauma they've been through was so horrific, they don't realize he's there to help them, not hurt them.

He goes to raccoon city and finds more lost souls. Officers still trying to serve and protect, the dead BSAA agents begging him to pass on last words to their loved ones. Marvin sitting in the RPD lobby, shocked and relieved to see the rookie all grown up now, but worried when he sees the dark markings and the haggard look in those once bright and eager eyes. He knows Leon doesn't have long left and asks him why he came back here of all places to die when Marvin can think of a hell of a lot better views to see from a comfy chair or a death bed.

Leon just laughs dryly and nods in agreement. "Yeah, I can think of a few myself but I still have unfinished business. You know how it is. You do the job so long, it's all you know in the end."

Marvin nods somberly. "Yeah, I know."
