I took some time today to clear my mind, body and spirit. I have been in Atlanta for a few decades now and I have never been to Stone Mountain. 🤦🏾‍♀️ It never set well with me…considering the history of it all. But, it was time to finally get past that. I wanted to do something new for me and I was really too lazy to drive or fly somewhere this weekend. 😀 So, as I drove around the park and found myself at the intersection of Robert E. Lee Blvd. and Jefferson Davis Dr., I cringed, deeply. 😖 I had to take a minute to recenter myself and remember why I was here. So here I am on Juneteenth 2022, walking past a Confederate flag flapping in the wind and up Stone Mountain for the first time. ✊🏾 I loved it and I will be back! Take that Robert E.
