At first glance this galaxy would appear to have a diamond ring surrounding it. The diamonds are in fact young hot giant blue stars, a few million years old only, and represent an area undergoing intense star formation, the inner section looks more like a traditional bulge on a spiral galaxy, however even that is misleading, the dark patches at the centre hide star formation, although not as dramatic as the outer ring is.

Seen in various filters, the spiral structure of the galaxy is better revealed, and extends far beyond the diamond ring too.

Astronomers believe that a large amount of gas is being pushed out from the centre outwards, causing a wave effect as the gas and dust slams into existing material. This compression wave leads to starburst conditions where large hot stars are created in vast amounts.

The condition is brief in the life of a galaxy, such blue stars live 5-10 million years at most, collapse into black holes and neutron stars, which then spiral towards the centre, and one day will enlarge the already active central black hole.

The galaxy sits 16 Million light years from Earth in the constellation of Canes Venatici.

i think this is slightly niche even within the star fox fandom but is anyone else thinking about this guy??? or is it just me???

this dude is unironically my favourite star fox character. he never appears within the story, but for some reason, he has lore??? lore that is actually kind of important???

for anyone who doesn't know, his name is Yaru de Pon and he's the president of Space Dynamics, the company that manufactures the Arwings and created the Great Fox. on the holoviewer in sf26, he's listed as an ally, but also it says that he may have sold weapons to disreputable buyers on the black market. WHAT?? was he secretly selling weapons to Andross and/or Star Wolf during the Lylat Wars?? i think he might be Tom Nook's creepy uncle or something... also, what's his relationship with Star Fox? is Fox making the loan payments on the Great Fox to Yaru directly? does Slippy have an opinion on Yaru, because his dad works with him?? so many questions!!

i need nintendo to make another star fox game with a new story and include Yaru beyond the training mode because i'm kind of obsessed with him, even though he's lowkey evil (possibly) he's just so whimsical despite everything, i love how the holoviewer says that he's really friendly and easygoing; it gives me the impression he's a scheming tanuki through and through. what a cutie patootie, i want to be his friend anyway and go on a date with him :')
