Ok so I’m back on my d slur discourse n I jus wanna talk abt this carrd for a minute bc I see it paraded abt as the ultimate resource on why bis can’t say d*ke and it’s honestly a joke. It’s extrapolations that make no sense n aren’t supported by anything, and there are almost no sources provided & what citation they do have directly contradicts the points they make so

All of these examples are clearly targeting women for gender nonconformity, which is seen as a mark of same gender attraction. And yet the last sentence here pulls out of nowhere this idea that “all of these examples shame lesbians for their lack of attraction to men” ? Nowhere is that supported in anything they’ve put in the text ? Unless you believe that you cannot be GNC while being attracted to men 🤔👀 (that is 100% what ppl like this believe btw 🙄)

Again - where is the evidence that it was used to describe things “exclusively associated with lesbianism” ? Bi women are just as capable of being “masculine, butch, tomboyish, or androgynous” as lesbians. Again they’re conflating GNC with lack of attraction to men due to their own biases & making extrapolations based in that, not in anything that’s actually in the sources they link

What they also fail to take into account is that any mention of “lesbians” prior to as late as the 70s/80s/sometimes even 90s would have at the time referred to bi women too ! Of course you’re not gonna see us mentioned by name in any of ur links bc there wasn’t a separate word for us back then ! If you take the meaning of lesbian that was used in the 50s then yeah sure “d*ke” is lesbian specific, but only because “lesbian” back then was used how we use “wlw” now

1st Q - the same baseless claim they’ve continually failed to back up

2nd Q - bizarre assumptions from a non-bisexual abt what they think our experiences are like. demonstrably false; any bi woman can give you examples of when they’ve been called d*ke specifically for being bisexual by ppl who are under no illusions that we’re actually lesbians

3rd Q - repetitive. wrong.

4th Q - this same fucked up idea again that bi women are just these hyper privileged harpies desperate to get a turn on the slur instead of yanno, ppl who are oppressed under homophobia n want to reclaim it for the same reasons lesbians do - it hurts us too & we find the same things u do in taking it back ??
