If you saw me recreationally vaccinating homeschooled children with blow darts then you should be thanking me, no? Relax a little. Blow darts are cool
You are just jealous of my ethical human safari
You only want to "audit my laboratory" because you're insecure, you're unmoisturized, your relationships are based on convenience and obligation rather than genuine mutual respect and interest, you can't afford better health insurance, you already fumbled all the opportunities life had for you, you're dehydrated, you have split ends, your relationship with your own spirituality is confused at best, your oral hygiene is notably subpar, your savings are laughable especially in the face of any emergency, your wardrobe can most kindly be described as "so you", highschoolers could bully you, you have no sociopolitical leverage whatsoever, your vibe is offputting, you have lint on your shirt, and frankly you're just not cool enough to merit knowing about the "millions" I've spent on a "huge variety of regulated bioengineering materials" 😒🙄😩
After 40 years of focused, grueling, honestly mania-inducing R&D I'm glad to announce that my team is coming out with a new birth control pill that doesn't actually "stop" you from conceiving but causes internal structural changes to your reproductive system so that at the moment of ejaculation your vagina locks onto a penis with retractable bone barbs and forcibly injects your egg and all released sperm back into your partner's urethra along with a DNA modifying virus that makes some easy little bodily blueprint changes on a cellular level to prompt the development of a genetically compatible uterus and vagina which can house and successfully carry the provided gametes and ensuing zygote to term, effectively allowing ALL of us to become "mother", which should hopefully either cut down mommy issues or at least really change the game on how bad they can get. And yes. The pill is pink🩷
I think some of y'all would really benefit from learning the scope of power of various political offices.
Are you trying to tell me my local schoolboard doesn't have the ability to declare a unilateral ceasefire with iran?
If they try hard enough and are pure of heart... still no.
i really love this video it’s a poem to me
i'm still a leftist but in my experience women are viewed as expendable in leftist spaces, spoken over, treated as stupid, on a level that is astounding. you can get away with an enormous level of vitriolic hatred for women if you couch it in the right terms
yeah they think it's bourgeois and childish and that you are bourgeois and childish if you are a feminist. sometimes the ones that want to act like Allies to Women will act like it's cute (read: naïve) that you're a feminist and expect you to be flattered by that. otherwise you're stuck up and obnoxious for acknowledging rape culture, caring about your own safety, and not believing in bullshit like "rich women don't experience misogyny"
being a bitch actually saves you a lot of time
they’ll think you’re a bitch anyway for having some reasonable boundary so you might as well just be a bitch sometimes and save yourself the trouble, the time, the energy, the money, etc
There was a round of posts that was something to the effect of "Estrogen won't make you look like a cat girl or an anime girl. It will make you look like your mom." And people were saying "Oh my god wow what a transphobic caricature! Trans women do not want to be anime girls." Okay yes the generic generalization is true, trans women do not want to be anime girls. But there is a significant contingent who do! They're kind of hard to miss. And maybe they need to hear that.
I remember that post, I think. It didn't only talk about anime girls and cat girls, it also made mention of supermodels, and that expands it to include quite a lot of us. It actually lines up with some of the unrealistic expectations cis girls endure, except we often didn't get that messaging and affirmation as teens even to the small extent that our our cis peers did. It wasn't the OP but later reblogs did also discuss the overlap with eating disorders too.
That post actually holds a bit of a special place in my heart. It's SO easy for us to fall extra hard for that trap of "this little pill will Fix Everything", with the extra potent fantasies of escaping the impacts of our testosterone puberty. For trans women above a certain age, we also frequently first encountered trans women in pornography (either as a concept or as an enjoyer), with all the consequent implications about beauty standards and self esteem.
Getting a bit of a shake and being told by another trans woman that HRT will probably turn me into my mom, because that's how fucking puberty works, wasn't news to me but the particular framing helped it sink in more deeply than it ever did coming from doctors or my own logical connect-the-dots. HRT isn't a magical girl transformation, it's genetics and biochemistry, and thinking of it like that helped it feel more impactful and powerful than being disappointed that it WASN'T changing my body so unrealistically.
Ready kids? Today we learn about genocide.
The seven stages of genocide:
1.) Give the people 3 weeks to evacuate and send them maps of escape routes.
2.) Drop thousands of leaflets, send thousands of SMS, and make calls to warn the population before an area is bombed.
3.) Focus on military targets that are intentionally placed near civilian areas to maximize casualties. But still achieving the lowest civilian to combatant ratio in any urban war in history. Lower than the Raqqa siege against ISIS.
4.) Allow humanitarian aid to enter the area you’re attacking. Provide humanitarian aid yourself. Provide electricity as well. Let the USA build a temporary port. Makes sure there is no famine.
How lazy journalism, bad data, and skewed statistics fueled accusations of war crimes against Israel.
5.) Kill barely 10’000 people within the first 60 days (at least half Hamas) in a state with a population of over 2 millions. In the most dense city. Despite having one of the most advanced militaries in the world.
6.) Allow the population to continue accessing the internet despite the fact that it is advantageous for your enemy.
7.) Make sure Palestinians can safely evacuate and guard their escape routes with tanks so the Palestinians don't get bombed by their own government:
Just to be clear, I think all civilian deaths on both sides are tragic, but the narrative of a genocide being committed by Israel is just wrong. This is a military conflict against a brutal terrorist regime which tragically led to many deaths. Hamas kidnaps babies, women and Holocaust survivors. Choose your words more carefully.
If you want to see how a genocide looks, check this:
On October 7, 2023, thousands of Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s security fence. Over 1,400 men, women, and children were brutally murder

I LOVE TOFU I LOVE TRANSGENDER WOMEN
ancient roman women whose husband keeps looking at the neighbour's boy quintus and he never looks at her that way and she can't even chainsmoke in the kitchen because they don't have marlboro blues in ancient times. and she can't even go to the club because they haven't discovered drum and bass music yet. her friend clodia's having visions of a woman named doechii but neither of them knows what that means

Working with different business cultures all over the globe, my biggest surprise is that while the USA is bad, it's not actually the very absolute worst I've ever worked with.
I can imagine all the guesses, but if you haven't talked with a crap ton of people from dozens of countries, it's not obvious.
The key is business culture is like its own weird separate culture with rules and structures, but most places have a fairly comprehensible set of expectations. So most of the time, it's just remembering perceived differences in expectations. Some places it's polite to be what feels really overly friendly to me. Some places it's polite to be what feels obsequious and formal to me. It's like, whatever. A secondary form of language kinda. It's not even social cues, it's just mechanics of language really. Places with that stuff, those are all fine and wonderful to deal with because there's a framework to communicate and all that.
Part of why the USA shits the bed trying to talk with is because every business person here has like zero framework, it's all lies and bullshit, and everyone wants to be the smartest bestest boy. It's not business culture as much as daycare for toddlers who have millions of dollars and hate human rights. Not the worst though, not by far.
What's key to understand is this is all separate from things like the real people in different places. Business brain people don't have any relevance to real human behavior, it's this whole other structure of make believe which controls everyone's well being. It's important to know because I know how to email a business guy in South Korea using language that will feel appropriate enough after translation, but that's completely irrelevant to the real people living there. It's easy to talk to business guys in China or India or whatever. Germany, Nigeria, Mexico.
UK business guys are pretty bad too. Still not the worst but you have to put a lot of extra work in because business culture in the UK still thinks the Brittish empire exists. The majority of business dudes in the UK see no difference between selling something that has their company name on it, and making it themselves. It's like how all the stuff that says "made in the USA" is 99% made somewhere else, and then one staple is put into it and it's made in the USA, but if you talk to business guys here, they never confuse where things are made, just like... more basic realities like linear time and physics. UK guys go the opposite way, and always say they own everything. But that's all relatively navigable. It's like, okay, you all live in an imaginary world, but I can still get everyone to understand time and logistics and stuff enough to get everyone understanding the same information. I can translate imagination land to reality and back, they get it.
Australia business guys are the worst. Uncontested. I keep minutely detailed notes on every interaction I have with any business brained Australian. I don't want to do this. I have to. Working with business guys in Australia is like being stuck in a marriage with an emotionally abusice pickup artist. Their favorite way to communicate is using work appropriate language to imply you're stupid and your work is worthless. Luckily, there's also no way to explain what you do, because I think when you get a corporate executive level position in an Australian business, they surgically remove the part of your brain that takes in new information.
My average verbal or email exchange with an Australian business guy goes something like this:
"Okay, this is going to take around a month. We need so and so dollars to start. Also, the Earth orbits the Sun."
"Great, just to confirm, we're ready to deliver tomorrow, and the giant hamster rolls the sunball across the sky. Sounds good, have you started?"
It's infuriating in some ways, fascinating in others. Information simply vanishes into an Australian business person as if you hurled it into space, but something in space might theoretically end up somewhere and everything I say to Australian business guys doesn't. I've tried every way around it, and nothing works. And they become enraged when the things they imagined, which no one ever actually said, don't happen. Like you know those clips from Alex Jones in court being read his own words? Imagine that instead of blustering denial he demanded to know how the lawyer was so incompetent at lawyering because words don't exist and he was told this was a carnival cruise not lawsuit. And they have both of the worst traits of USA and UK business guys on top of all that. And I've never heard anyone even close to the same level of casual racism as business guys in Australia. I mean, business guys as a rules aren't great people, but nowhere I've ever worked with has been so consistently terrible to deal with. It would be one thing if it was an outlier, I've had one or two USA companies that were rough, sometimes companies in South Korea can be a real pain, navigating business culture in France if you're from the USA is a labyrinth. But Australia. Those business guys are on another level. Every other company with dodgy practices knows what they’re doing that's questionable. I don't know if business guys in Australia have the ability to understand... like... language. Do they understand laws, money, logistics, anything? Impossible to say! They walk and talk like people but they have discovered some means by which they never intake any information ever. It's like plausible deniability evolved into a new part of the brain specifically to make it easier to be as unethical as the manifest physical reality permits. The regular people in Australia all seem fine, just more people, but the business operators are like night and day. I can find ways to communicate with non-English speakers fairly well, knowing how to work language to adapt to translation is fun. I can't make fucking heads or tails of English speaking Australian corporate execs. If you speak any second language, any at all, know that you are doing better at it than these guys are in their first one. It's literally impossible to overstate how uniformly unpleasant it is to work with business guys from Australia. They are, without question, the worst.
The thing about a lot of left-wing populists—those who are in what I would call the "utopian wing" of the left—is that they don't seem, in a really fundamental sense, to think conflicts are real. And this comes as an attachment to two principles: (1) conflicts are about resources and sometimes ideology (the latter can be dismantled) and (2) all goods are basically the same stuff. And I think both of those principles are obviously false. Notice here that conflicts are quite superficial and seem to just go away if society is organized the right way. And I think a faith that conflicts are really unreal in this way is not only going to disappoint you, even if the world is made in the revolutionary image, but it's also going to give you trouble in navigating your personal relationships. Sometimes people really do want things that fundamentally conflict with what you want and it doesn't mean that they're bad or they don't love you. There is no world in which it is all harmonious agreement of preferences, actions, duties, and so on. There are real conflicts in the good.
