Name: Mildred P. Hamilton
Parents: Gertrude Hamilton and Howard Hamilton
Pos: Strong, loyal and honest.
Neg: Stubborn, short-tempered, sometimes too self-confident and gullible.
Short Bio: Mildred was born in a small town in Georgia, with her mother and father living on her grandparents peach farm.
She began learning about the fun of agriculture and often helped out in the peach groves with her grandfather. Her granddad had unfortunately died in his sleep
when Millie was only 6 years old. Her grandmother became a nervous wreck and was soon put into a hospital. Mildred’s parents gained the rights to the farm.
When Millie turned 18, she left Georgia in hope of a new life. Moving to the city was tough on her. She had to numerous odd jobs to pay for her apartment.
Her most well paying job was as an intern at the local plant nursery. Upon her 20th birthday, she received a job offer at the farm just a few miles from the city. She proved to be a very dedicated worker. Mildred now resides in the farmhouse and is has a happy life.
Any kind tips and critiques would be very helpful. :)
Character Design: Well, I think Mildred’s design is cute and she looks like she’ll fit in the Regular Show universe, though the eyes are a little too egg-shaped for Regular Show’s style. Also, your line work is pretty rough around the edges. It’s not a bad start, but you need to practice your drawing skills more. I would try not to rely on the shape/line tools so much from whatever drawing program you're using, I know it feels like they make it easier for you to draw, but really they set you back from improving on your own.
Character Traits: I like your choices and I think they're believable. Mildred's positive and negative traits blend in great with her character.
Bio: Her past seems to flow well with her character, and based on how she grew up, I can see why she would have trouble adjusting to city life, though I would like to see a little more of what she went through. Only problem I have with this is that last sentence. You just can't end it there. While I'm glad her hard work has paid off, there still needs to be some conflict and an ultimate goal or purpose for Mildred to reach. Otherwise, future character development is going to be difficult. Is there any trouble the farm is going through like financial troubles, competition, or some trouble with growing produce for example? Is Mildred is just a regular worker living in the farm who is trying to prove that she's skillful enough to own the farm some day? Is she happier with her new life here than her old life at home and why? What challenges does Mildred face running the farm? Are there certain people she can't get along with or she try to be nice to everyone she meets?
These are only examples of questions you can use to help develop Mildred's character further. Overall, the handle you handled Mildred is a good start, but there's some things you can do to make Mildred a better OC.
