A duel?
‘Must I put on silk stockings?’ ‘Certainly you must put on silk stockings. And do show a leg, my dear chap: we shall be late, without you spread a little more canvas.’ ‘You are always in such a hurry,’ said Stephen peevishly, groping among his possessions. A Montpellier snake glided out with a dry rustling sound and traversed the room in a series of extraordinarily elegant curves, its head held up some eighteen inches above the ground. ‘Oh, oh, oh,’ cried Jack, leaping on to a chair. ‘A snake!’ ‘Will these do?’ asked Stephen. ‘They have a hole in them.’ ‘Is it poisonous?’ ‘Extremely so. I dare say it will attack you, directly. I have very little doubt of it. Was I to put the silk stockings over my worsted stockings, sure the hole would not show: but then, I should stifle with heat. Do not you find it uncommonly hot?’ ‘Oh, it must be two fathoms long. Tell me, is it really poisonous? On your oath now?’ ‘If you thrust your hand down its throat as far as its back teeth you may meet a little venom; but not otherwise. Malpolon monspessulanus is a very innocent serpent. I think of carrying a dozen aboard, for the rats – ah, if only I had more time, and if it were not for this foolish, illiberal persecution of reptiles … What a pitiful figure you do cut upon that chair, to be sure.
Barney, Barney, buck or doe, Has kept me out of Channel Row,’ he sang to the serpent; and, deaf as an adder though it was, it looked happily into his face while he carried it away.

omg.... two posts in one month o o don't call me out on my arcane brain rot ok, its not a problem I swear
I wanna see more androgynous cait I feel like people tend to portray her super put together and feminine but in my mind it’s because we’re so used to seeing her in uniforms
She doesn’t really come off as a fashionista to me. I used to think she was but now im like waittt. Like you’re telling me that if she existed RIGHT NOW in this society she wouldn’t wear the same sweater for a week straight to maximize efficiency. Righttt….
THIS, most of s1 we see Caitlyn dressed in clothes not chose by her (her uniform that is a dress and the clothes Vi stole in undercity) in season 2 we see her using her more practical uniform. The only time we see her using something she chooses herself is the turtleneck + pants in act3/epilogue. That girl is much more into androgynous and practical clothing than hyper femme.
Don’t forget about this little moment! Her little probably fitted nightgown (bow on top of the gathers to snatch at her waist) and some hella creased boy shorts.
Far from stereotypically feminine or a fashionista indeed, that’s the look of someone whose closet may be three times a normal house but still picks her outfits from the exclusive selection of “chair we use to throw the used but not dirty enough clothes” and doesn’t bother herself with it more than she needs to.
Also, peep the little coat + top hat hanger on the left. I think it’s a reference to her League outfit? That thing looks like it was thrown there, also the hat on the ground. Girl does not care at all for that, the people of Zaun are more imaginative when Frankenstein-ing their fits together from scraps and she’s just wearing whatever as long as she can move in it or be presentable at work
(GIF from @arcanegifs btw idk why the tag thing isn’t working)
TRUE. Fashion in arcane is so interesting especially how the characters balance functionality with aesthetics and at the same time convey who they are…
like vi doesn’t have a last name (none of the zaunites even) but we get a sense of who she is based on her hairstyle, her tattoos, her piercings, her makeup, her bandages - and then there’s Cait whose last name alone is the equivalent of wearing this everyday
As salo said. Its not the girl its the name it bewitches people etc

estraven goes in the hole
The Left Hand of Darkness in 10 color scripted scenes. The last leg of their journey - when Estraven almost falls into the ravine; when they finally arrive at Karhide; when they lay together for the last time before parting ways.
[ID:
Frame 1: When Estraven almost plunges into the ravine. Estraven and the sled are very small in the top left corner with the vast empty ravine below filling up the rest of the frame with a menacing blue emptiness.
Frame 2: when the two finally spot a light from Karhide in the distance. Estraven points to something off screen in the distance. Their expressions are slightly hopeful and desperately relieved. The frame is dark but there is a small amount of warm light hitting their faces from the direction they are gazing at.
Frame 3: when the two lay together for the last time. A close up of Genly and Estraven from above, where you can see the two of them curled up in each other’s arms in a snowy crevice underneath some trees. The image feels grim but intimate.
