End of Game | Reina | Trial 3 Results

Reina listens to the case file, eyes never leaving Miunhosei. It’s not her. It’s not, and they’re going to mistrial and someone she cares about is going to die because Risumaru made a vague letter or because Miunhousei was just that good at shutting down theories or…or something. But it’s not her! It can’t be!

But it ends, and she hears that she’s forgotten and…it’s her. Reina feels like she just got kicked in the gut, almost falls to the floor in despair. Still, she tries to keep her wits about her. She has to…she has to say it.

“Miun-kun…I’m so sorry. I really am. I would never have tried to accuse you if I knew it was me. I know you can’t forgive murder, but I really hope you can forgive me for stabbing you in the back like that. I have no idea why I would murder…what could have made him “concerned”.

As Toyo rants, Reina does indeed cover her ears, letting the moment happen to think about why she would have done this…why she’d kill someone. Now that the gas has been out of her system for a while, the memories come rushing back while the other girl yells and finally…there’s a woman’s smile.

Warm, kind. She remembers now: that smile had been lost. It only came back because she got her hands dirty, didn’t it? Because Risumaru saw she was so close to taking it out on someone else?

“Ah.”

Reina’s nails dig into her head, and that same smile her dear classmates have seen so many times is back…it’s tighter but it’s back.

“My mom…she’s gone. I had even forgotten that, for a bit. Losing the memory of her dying was alright, you know? It’s not that kind of thing I want to remember anyway. And thinking you have a full home to come back to is even more motivation to escape. I was starting to forget my dad too, but…I mean, he’s alive. I knew that. I could still go out and see him once we all escaped…even when I forgot, I still knew in my gut that losing my memories of her would mean something.”

The loudest cheers from the most adoring parents, the way her mom would braid her hair and put flowers in it, family camping trips when her mom could still walk. All of it was gone. She had been a terrible daughter; she had forgotten the most important person in her whole life.

“I couldn’t do it…I couldn’t forget. My memories of her are all I have left, as long as we’re stuck in here. And the only person who still saw me…what would I do without her to keep me going?”

Is that true? Does nobody else see her? Reina looks around at the people that are standing around her and feels something flutter inside her. She had wanted to feel something so badly. Anything other than empty or sad. To feel like someone saw her for more than just Reina Saito, SHSL Soccer Player. How is it that it took getting trapped in a cave to find that?

“My dad…he’s going to be all alone. His whole world was me and my mom…and I’m abandoning him because I couldn’t take the pressure! I’m sure this is how I make him proud, huh? By being a murderer?”

There’s so much she should have said to him. Maybe they could have been whole again. Surely that’s what her mom is going to say, assuming there’s even anything waiting for her besides the cold and dark.

“She’s going to be so disappointed when she sees me…”

You're Still Her Teammate | Reina | Trial 2.2 | Re: Matasaku

Reina hadn’t even minded that the others had ignored her and gone running with their own theories. It had all seemed pretty sensible to her! If they knew what they were doing, there was no need to try and stick her nose in. It was only as they kept talking and arguing and then confessions were having and people were crying and….

Man, she can’t breathe. It hurts even more than last time, somehow. She just stares hard at Masataku, then at everyone who’s crying, and then at the floor, sighing. This is normally when she should pull out some kind of inspirational speech, but that won’t work in here.

He’s a good guy, she knows that. She already said she’d probably forgive whoever killed this time, and that’s still true.

“When we get out, do you want me to say something to Mari-chan? I…Look, I can’t say killing was a good thing, but I’m still….grateful. You saved a lot of lives, and that’s just as important as…as everything that happened, on purpose or not. Thank you. I’m sorry about all of this. I really don’t want to vote for you but…I just can’t sacrifice someone else.”

No I'M The Bomb || Reina || Ch. 1 Motive Reaction

Reina was, once again, enjoying that cave life! Exploring the labyrinth was fun, and everyone was still pretty cool! Maybe having to be stuck in this place wasn’t so bad after all! So it’d figure as soon as she was starting to get nice and comfy, things had to get worst. She had been so excited to see what the day would bring, and then Komori had to send that message….

Noticing that those weird things on the wall were there before they activated wasn’t going to really do anything. Reina squinted at them as Komori began to explain the whole motive. They sure looked like real bombs, not that Reina had ever seen a real bomb before. But like in action movies and stuff….wow, they were real action stars!

She giggled, shaking her head. Despite the pretty serious mood of things, she seemed totally unbothered.

“Oh, please! Saying "don’t tamper with the bombs” is totally what someone would say when you just don’t want them to look too closely. I bet these things are fakes just to try and pressure us into doing something horrible. Just relax and don’t give her the reaction she wants, everyone! I’m gonna go make breakfast. If anyone wants anything, let me know!“

Kill over some prop bombs??? No way! It’s munch time.

Start With A Bang! || CH1 Motive

It had been a couple days since your ‘caretaker’ had made her presence known and explained the killing game to you all. As expected no one had actually killed each other. So when the morning came where Komori had sent a message out to you all asking for everyone to meet her by the lake you prepared for the worst

As you all exited your tents and gathered by the lake you saw Komori standing there. As she began to speak the bat’s usual peppy expression turns to one of frustration… Well, as frustrated as a toy bat the size of a toddler can look at any rate.

“Students… I’m vewy disappointed in you all… None of you have killed each other yet! Don’t you realize we have a game to play hewe?! I know you all must want to stay down hewe with your lovely caretaker Komori-chan so much but you’re making this hard on me as well!

Komori lets out an exasperated huff.

“But it’s okay… Because I love you all vewy much I’ve decided I’d help you out some more with a little… Incentive.”

Reaching behind her Komori reaches into the bag she had brought with her. You can hear the rustling of various objects before Komori eventually pulls out a small handheld control device.

“And what’s a better way to motivate you all than with a bang~!”

With that she dramatically clicks the button with her squishy little wing. All of a sudden you can hear the faint sound of multiple devices ticking echoing throughout the cave. As you all look around you spot various metal and wire fixtures on the wall that weren’t there the night before. All of them have a small digital clock on them that seems to be counting down. Suddenly the realization of what Komori meant hits you like a truck.

Were those all bombs?!

“While you were all asleep I went ahead and put a bunch of these bombs all over the cavern walls. As you can already tell they’re all set on a timer that I just activated~! So if someone doesn’t kill within three days then the bombs will all explode, causing a cave in that will kill you all.”

Komori couldn’t be serious about this, could she? There’s no way she’d be willing you risk getting you all killed… Right?!

“I think the choice here is pretty clear, yes yes~? One widdle life must be snuffed out in order to save you all! I’m positive one of you will step up to the plate sooner than later.”

“And one more thing- Don’t you even think about trying to disarm the bombs!! They’re rigged to explode if anyone tries to tamper or move them… I’ve also put some of them in the labyrinth so you can’t hide out there either.”

She gives you all a sympathetic wave.

“Okay! That’s all everyone, you are dismissed. I hope to see some results within the coming days…!”

With that she squeakily waddles away, bag in tow. The bombs countdown continued to tick ominously in the background as you are left once more to your own devices. You had three days left before the bombs would go off. Hopefully Komori was bluffing, but if she wasn’t then…

Would someone actually have to die?

HEY THAT’S A FOUL || Reina || CH1 Start Reaction

If she was being honest, she was expecting bad news eventually. She was just hoping it’d be like ‘oh you and your class feel and hit your heads. You’ve all got temporary amnesia and you’re stuck with no real way out.’ You know, something plausible! She definitely wasn’t expecting something as terrifying as the world up there apparently being totally messed up. Or being told that the only way to get back would be to kill someone. Although at least the bad news was coming from a pretty cute bat…Nature’s incredible! You can just have orange bats with a button-eye and nobody bats an eye! Hehe….puns.

Unfortunately that bat stopped being cute as soon as it was ripping that mystery girl to shreds. Reina tried not to show how badly she was panicking but there was no hiding how badly she was shaking or how wide her eyes were as she took in all the blood. That’s…that’s too much blood. Reina stared very intensely at Komori for one moment.

…This probably wasn’t a fight she could win, huh? No matter how much she was debating punting it into the stratosphere. Reina clenched her fists tightly, trying to remember how to breath as she stumbled back towards her tent. Yeah. Time for a nap or something.

Bloody Beginnings || Chapter 1 Start

“Um… Are you referring to me?”

Standing yet again pretty far from the rest of you was the girl you had come to know as Akane. She blinked at Komori incredulously as the bat pointed at her. Komori nodded and began stomping squeakily towards the girl.

“Yes! This game is only for Hope’s Peak Academy’s 76th class to participate in, and you don’t even belong here! I don’t know what you think you’re doing here but since outsiders aren’t permitted to participate in the game…”

As if on cue; dozens of razor sharp claws suddenly, and rather comically, extruded from Komori’s wings as she gave Akane a devilish stare.

“You’ll have to be disposed of~!”

“W-What? You can’t be serious-!”

Unfortunately Akane never got the chance to finish before Komori was lunging at her at an unreal speed. What happened next was almost too fast and hectic to make out. As Komori slashed and attacked the girl in a frenzy all you could hear was blood curdling screams as blood splattered the ground and ceiling all around you. When it was all over you heard a hard ‘thump’ and saw Akane collapse to the ground in a puddle of her own blood as Komori landed a couple feet away.

With deep gashes and stab wounds all over, Akane stared up at the ceiling with pained wheezes and gasps as she quickly bled out. In her final moments you could have sworn you saw her murmuring something as the light faded from her eyes.

The strange girl who you barely got to know was dead, and she had died right before your very eyes.

…

“…Oh deary me, I may have gotten a little carried away there. I’m so vewy sowwy you had to see that! …Well! Regardless of the messiness of it all let this all be a lesson to you all my dears~ I am very serious and the Mutual Killing Game will be happening.”

“For now I’m gonna go wash myself off before cleaning up this place. I will also be dropping off your own personal Komori Tablets in your tent- they have the rules, guidelines, and a bunch of nifty features on them so I suggest checking them out. If you need anything else in the meantime don’t hesitate to ask~!”

With that Komori finally leaves you all be. After a display like that you’re not sure what to think. Komori’s explanation, the mutual killing game, Akane’s sudden death- what was the meaning of this all? You could only hope that no one would actually participate in this messed up game Komori had planned for you.

Just what kind of cruel twist of fate was this…?

[CHAPTER 1… START!]

Miss Komori's Kooky Killing Game || Prologue

Before you had the chance to look the iron door in front of you all suddenly ‘clicks’ before slamming open. There you all see a small plush looking bat standing in the entry way. The squeaks of her steps echoed throughout the cavern as she waddled over to you in concern.

“Phew… Oh thank goodness you’re all still here in one piece! I was so worried something might have happened to you all! I’m so vewy sowwy! I won’t ever leave you guys again!”

“…Oh! I’m sowwy, I didn’t even introduce myself yet! I’m Komori~! I’m going to be your personal caretaker during your stay here.”

As the bat spread out her wings enthusiastically at you her words suddenly hit you… Your stay here? What? Seeing the confused looks on your faces Komori continued on.

“Ah! Now now now… You may be asking yourselves, 'Oh no! What is our widdle sweet Komori-chan talking about?’ I know it’s a lot to take in, but, well… You’ll be staying down here with me, permanently.”

“I know a lot of you must be feeling homesick but you must understand…The world as you know it isn’t the same anymore. It’s so dangerous and scawy now, there is nothing left for you back up there but heartbreak and despair… But it’s okay! None of you have to worry because you’ll all be safe here with me! It might be hard but try to think of this place as your new home. If you need anything at all pwease don’t be afraid to ask! I’m here to ensure your well being after all~!”

You could feel the dread in the pits on your stomachs the more Komori spoke. What did she mean the world wasn’t the same anymore? Were you truly going to be forced to stay down here forever? Live the rest of your days in some dingy underground cave that was god knows where? Could this truly be happening to all of you? As you shared uneasy glances with the rest of your classmate your 'caretaker’ spoke up.

“…But, there is one exception. I realize some of you might not be as willing to stay down here fowever with me. If you truly want to go back home then all you gotta do is win a wittle game we’ll all be playing!”

A game? Just what was she talking about this time?

“It can get pwetty drab and boring spending all your time down here so I’ve prepared a little game for everyone to play! This game isn’t optional either- you all gotta play or else it won’t be any fun, okay? The rules are vewy simple…!”

“If you want to leave the cavern and return to the outside world then you must kill one of your fellow classmates and get away with it. Failing to do so will result in your own death as well. Simple enough, yes? You all must participate in our mutual killing game if you ever wish to leave this place. Breaking any rules or attempting to harm me will also result in your death as well.”

Despite Komori’s cheery smile you could only feel your blood run cold. Mutual killing game…? There was no way any of this could be real- This was all so twisted and absurd. Surely there has to be another way out of here. You weren’t actually going to have to go through something so sick and terrible down here, were you?

“…Though I’ve found that you kids don’t tend to believe me when I explain the nature of this game, fyuuu… And there is one other issue we need to take care of before we can begin. Hmm… Oh! I got it! I think a demonstration is in order!”

Just what was she going to do? Before you could inquire further Komori looked out into the crowd of you all and pointed at someone.

“You there!”

Who Goes There? || Prologue

It had only been a couple hours since you all woke up before your teacher Miss Bellerose gathered you all together once more. She sounded urgent but still calm

“Hello? Students? Can you please come over here for a short while? I have something to discuss with you all!”

Thanks to how wide open the cavern was it didn’t take you all long to gather next to the iron door where your teacher was standing by. Clasping her hands together Bellerose looked to you all with a reassuring smile.

“I’ve done a lot of looking and I can only presume that this door may be the way for us to escape… However I cannot seem to find the method to opening it. I’m still searching for other means of an exit but for now… I believe this is our only way out. I don’t see a key hole or a control pad… So I’m assuming there must be another way to open it…”

Before Bellerose could continue any further however, you all heard a tiny shrill squeaking sound coming from behind the door. As you looked among yourself wondering what on Earth was that you hear the pitter patter of squeaks and someone in a panic.

“Oh no! I’m late I’m late I’m late! Uwaaaa-!”

…Huh? You looked around confused. Who said that?

MIUNHŌSEI only chuckles after seeing her cheeks flush! She’s truly adorable isn’t she! Plus she’s also seven inches smaller than him! He almost feels like leaning in close to her and pinching her cheeks! He can sort of agree with the things she’s saying. Being in charge of micro-managing everything the others do is a difficult task, but he usually is limited to a small amount of numbers while she likely has to lead 15 different people at the same time. It sounds quite taxing!

“Hahaha! You’re a bit red right now Saito-dono! Pardon my bluntness but it is quite an adorable sight! Certainly one for sore eyes! I believe I will have an easy time smiling while in your presence if you’re usually this jovial! Nonetheless please do not underestimate your own abilities! Tactics and scoring goals is still an important skill to have! Plus, the fact you now have a title that recognizes your skills is truly impressive! Perhaps you could even whip me into shape! I’m not the best at sports, you see!”

Aw, this is nice. He’s glad he and his tentmate are having such a good time hanging out! Completely and entirely unprompted, MIUNHŌSEI reaches over for Reina and with his gloved hand ruffles her hair playfully! After all what good are small-sized friend if you cannot be affectionate towards them? Unfortunately MIUNHŌSEI will derive satisfaction from playing with Reina like this!

“You flatter me too much Saito-dono! It is true, I am employed to teach others, but I am still a young man myself. Addressing my employers with respect is simply part of who I am. As for who raised me… Well, not to dampen the atmosphere, but you’re looking at him right now..!”

Oh… Yeah, that would tense any other atmospheres around if it got out, but he does not seem bother to admit to such things! He’s still relatively calm and smiling! But he does nod his head in agreement with what she’s said. It is disappointing when people simply refuse to listen to the advice others give… One cannot improve without listening to what others have to say, after all.

“I’m glad it is someone like you that was chosen for Hope’s Peak Academy. After all you help lighten any atmosphere! The world could use more positive and optimistic people like you. I am truly glad to have encountered you even in these dire circumstances!”

She looks him up and down, evaluating. Even if he is joking about getting into sports, Reina is taking it completely serious. There had been less athletic people who wanted to join her team, after all! Whipping them into shape was what she did best! But getting into thinking about sports makes it easier to calm down and stop being so flustered because of the compliment barrage. At least until he actually calls her out!

“You’re forgiven, heh. I’m not at all used to getting this many compliments so suddenly! I mean, a couple, sure but you’re so sweet! But smiling through it all is what I do best! No matter how tired or beaten down you get, you have to smile and keep it going! Or, it’s like that in sports. Never really had to apply that to being stuck in a cave...I don’t know if we can really learn without a ball, but I’d happy to try and teach you! I’m a decent enough coach!”

Good enough that her actual coach could usually sit back and relax, at any rate. But there’s only so much soccer skills you can get without the equipment...maybe they’d be able to find something that was like a ball? Somewhere? She has no idea what that’d be, though. Not like caves usually had round objects you could kick hard without hurting yourself.She’s pulled out of her thoughts when she ruffles her hair and chuckles, giving it a quick pat down. It’s not like she cares that much about her hair, but it’s good to make sure it’s not sticking up too badly.

“Ah, I guess I can see that. I don’t know, when I became captain a lot of the older players were super unwilling to listen to me at first. I guess it’s different because you’re working with actual adults, but I feel like if you’re the teacher they should be more respectful to you....oh. Well, good on you for turning out so well.”

Her smile doesn’t falter, but it’s very close. If he seems alright with it then good for him, but raising yourself....that’s rough, isn’t it? She can’t imagine doing that.

“And I’m glad I could get to meet you! I’m happy we’re gonna tenting together for...however long we’re stuck here. But if you or the others ever need a sudden burst of optimism, I’m your girl!”

“Is that so? Color me just as impressed then! Handling a team entirely by yourself is just as splendid and spectacular as manning a ship! Frankly, what you’re doing is no easy task! I agree on the sentiment though, positive vibes and keeping a good morale are just as important as anything else! Be prideful of who you are as a person! After all if you cannot even acknowledge yourself on a job well done then expecting others to do the same is rather foolish would you not agree? We must believe in ourselves more than in anything else!”

Did he just go into an anime-like monologue right there? Absolutely! But it’s not like he can help it, he is a white-haired anime boy after all. But he’s still looking around for something. An escape perhaps? Really anything that could hint at a way for them to get out of this place. If escape is even possible! But he’s not sure he wants to go down that road just yet.

“Haha! I suppose? But I would say my personality is not directly-related to my Talent! I just am the way I am because it is how I was raised. To be respectful and always do my best no matter the situation! Helping others is what brings me joy. But if you truly wish me to educate you then I suppose we should start with a basic lesson: never judge others! You never know what others have been through or why they behave the way they do! Everyone is an important person here! But I’m sure someone as sweet as you already knows that!”

He doesn’t know why but he feels like she and him are going to get along just fine! Swimmingly smooth, even!

“I understand what you’re trying to say. I’ve certainly met some former Masters of mine that simply refused to get along with others no matter my best efforts. My advice is fruitless if others aren’t willing to do their part as well, after all. I’m glad that doesn’t seem to be the case either though.”

She can feel her cheeks reddening just a bit, even though she’s trying to wave him off again. This is a lot of compliments, you know! She’s not exactly lacking in confidence but it’s not like you usually hear somebody talking about being a soccer captain like it’s this impressive. Sometimes a monologue from a white-haired anime boy is just what you need!

“Well, no, it’s not easy! But I’ve had plenty of time to learn how to do it! Besides. ship captains get help and so do I. The coach is still there to really lead us. I’m just really good at strategies and scoring points. But you’re right, though! It’s good to know who you are and what you’re capable of.

She nods, tapping her head.

“Right, got it! No more quick judgements. I try to read people sometimes, but I get that just assuming stuff like that could definitely be rude. But I do think everyone here is important! I mean, everyone’s important, but...you know. We’re all here because we’re talented and what society would consider important. But you know, whoever raised you did a good job! I mean, for me, how I was raised and my talent...it’s kinda hard to tell what came first! I get how that’s not the same for everyone, though.”

Reina frowns, tilting her head. ‘Masters’? That sounds a lot worse than just teaching someone please and thank yous. But he seems pretty alright with that.

“Aren’t you technically the master, though? Like the master of manners or something like that. But if you’ve got such a good reputation you’d think people could at least try and listen more. Nothing more frustrating to me than when people won’t take your advice.”

Kitchen discourse 2019… Even so he cannot help but think guilty about it. He was intending to at the very least offer his best services to the group gathered here, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem like he’s going to be able to do so given the low-quality of, well, literally everything in here.

“A captain huh! What for if you do not mind me asking! Of a ship perhaps? I’d be impressed if you could man an entire ship by yourself! But thank you either ways for not barreling and asking about my story. It means a lot more than you’d think. But… Why do you think it’s cool? Are you not worried about what this place is?After all it’s not everyday a person wakes up in a cavern without any recollection on how they even got here…”

He has his suspicions! But for now he’s just going to, well, not delve onto that topic any further. Just thinking about it exhausts him. Maybe he should focus on literally anything else to get his mind off things though. It would certainly put him more at ease.

“I suppose you could say so! It isn’t my main occupation, but I just delight in cooking for both myself and others! But if you’re curious about my title, I am an Etiquette Consultant. In other words, I make sure that everyone is always on their best behavior and dispense towards them life-changing advice. That is what I tend to focus on! But I’m afraid I cannot answer your other questions… You might be right though, we’re probably different. For all I know that’s the reason we got paired together? Difficult to say…”

Does she look like a ship captain? She feels a little too pretty for that...but it still feels like a compliment! Ship captains are like, super strong and cool, right? But the actual truth makes her super strong and cool. She giggles, shaking her head.

“I’m a soccer captain, actually. I’ve never even been on a ship before...it’s flattering that you’d think I might have been able to do that, though! Guess I am good at leading a team and guiding us to victory! So I guess that’s just what all captains do, huh. And...I mean, I’m definitely a little worried, but I‘m a glass half-full kind of person. We’re all safe and not hurt, and we’ve got supplies to last for a bit. No sense in stressing ourselves out more than we have to.”

Although the sooner they could get out, the better. They all probably had things they had to do! They couldn’t just stay trapped in a cave forever. Not to mention she wasn’t quite sure how long these supplies could last, anyway.

“That explains why you’re so nice, heh. How am I doing? Sometimes my manners aren’t as great as I’d love for them to be. But that’s really cool! You’re helping a lot of people, and that’s respectable. Maybe we got paired together so you could whip me into shape,”

She giggles.

“Probably not, but I’m glad my tent-mate can be someone as nice as you. Not that the others I’ve met are jerks or anything. They’re really cool, actually! But some people just don’t get along sometimes, you know? We’re doing alright.”

Would your oc know Reina?

Maybe! Anything is possible. Reina’s one of the best youth soccer players in Japan, and she’s won plenty of awards for that. But if your oc isn’t very interested in sports news, they probably haven’t heard of her. But they might still recognize her name, if they’re skimming headlines!

Reina’s known for her record when it comes to scoring points, along with becoming captain of her high school soccer team when she was only a freshman. That’s the kind of stuff that gets her in the papers.

I love shipping, but I’m always about chemistry first! Reina is a lesbian, but unlike some of my. very emotionally repressed kids I think it’d be easier to at least...get some flirting done? The Kitchen was perhaps the most terrifying thing about this place for him! Who would dare call this a kitchen?! There was so much disappointment and anger boiling inside him about this specific topic. It was an insult to his abilities as both a cook and a chef! He almost feels like crying! but alas, right now’s not about that! Right now it’s about getting to know his new tentmate! She’s actually really energetic! Her behavior earns a chuckle from him!

“You possess a name that shines as brightly as your smile, if I may say so myself! Your energy does well to soothe my despairing heart, I must say! But alas… I suppose it isn’t that awkward huh. Yes, for personal reasons I would rather you only address me as such. It is a rather unfortunate… Tale. I would rather not share it if you do not mind…”

For a second, there’s nothing but sadness in his eyes, eyes that avoid looking into her own as he turns his head around to avoid looking at her. Whatever he was talking about, it certainly seemed to be something deep to his chest… After taking in a deep breath though he does recover and that sunny smile is back on his lips! Guess he recovers quickly from the amount of times people have asked him that already!

“I would hardly call this a kitchen… Saito-dono, this is an insult on my very person– both Psalm-dono and myself..! Alas, it is what we have and I will do my best to make… Serviceable dishes with what I have. But you are correct, there is no thread of logic I can follow that would make sense of this situation… By the way, why do you think we got paired together? That is to say, do we perhaps share something in common? Or am I grasping at straws here?”

Not every kitchen can be ideal, you know? Hana’s just happy they have a kitchen. She’s not exactly at as good a chef or a cook as Miunhosei probably is, though. And that’s alright! As long as she can make something halfway decent here, that’s all that matters. And from the looks of it, they’ll be able to survive together. She still preens a bit at the compliment, even if she’s also waving it off with a chuckle.

“You’re too sweet! I’m glad my energy can help you, though. It’s my job as a captain to inspire hope in times of despair....or just times of super bad confusion. Anyway, of course you don’t have to share! I’d love to get to know you better, but I’m not gonna ask for your whole life story while we’re standing in our weird mini-kitchen. It’s not awkward at all, though! I think it’s...kinda cool!”

Man, she should just go by Reina. That would probably be a really cool title, right? She frowns a little bit as he turns away, but she doesn’t want to comment on it. If he’s pushing through the sadness, she’s not gonna dig in there. It wouldn’t be appropriate.

“Are you a chef? I don’t really know a lot about anyone’s talents, sorry. But you know it’s....it’s a kitchen! It’s livable. I’m sure the others aren’t expecting like a big fancy meal e...every night? How long are we going to be down here, do you think? I don’t even know how to get out of this part of the cave. But um...yeah, I don’t know! Hope this isn’t rude, but we seem totally different. But maybe there is something there? Who’s to say.”

His voice was devoid of any excitement. He knew this was a cave, sure, but he was expecting a lot more food or a lot more kitchen utensils! The types of utensils that could be used to cook up a reasonable meal! How was he supposed to keep everyone else well fed when there’s such meager instruments and ingredients for him to use here? It felt almost like a slap in the face!

Right as he’s about to turn and leave though, a second face shows up! Ah, she’s familiar! Not by much, but if he remembers correctly, he woke up by her side not that long ago! He supposes that means they’re tentmates? Oh my God they were tentmates… Either ways! Despite his spirits being broken right now he can still muster a believable-enough smile!

“Ah! It’s good to see you! Must’ve been awkward waking up besides a boy in a tent you’ve never been in before, wasn’t it? I felt the same way… But seeing as it seems that we’re going to be tentmates from this point onward, we should get acquainted a little! My name is MIUNHŌSEI! I’m sure a beautiful young lady like you has a name as well! If it’s not too much trouble, would you mind telling me it?”

Jelly beans just weren’t going to cut it...a gal’s gotta get something to eat! It was even more motivation that Reina recognized the boy examining the kitchen.Not that she knew him knew him, but considering that they had somehow ended up in a tent together, they were going to have to get to know each other better eventually. Might as well start now!

“Aw, it’s not that awkward. I mean, it was a surprise, obviously, but everything about this place is a surprise! I’m glad my roommate seems to be someone as polite as you, though! I’m Reina Saito....just the one name, then? That’s cool! You’re like, a celebrity.”

....Wait, they’re all kinda like celebrities. That’s kind of the point.There’s a pause as she glances around at the kitchen taking it all in.

“Does any of this make sense? Like we wake up in a cave and then the cave has stuff like this. It’s not a real kitchen, but it’s still weird that there’s even something as basic as this. At least we’re not gonna starve!”
