Psalm needs this guy to stop smiling at her, or she was going to go blind, and wouldn’t that just be a whole ‘nother problem to add onto a quickly growing list.
Problem #1: They were currently trapped in what seemed to be an underground cave, and she had a roommate.
Problem #2: She had a roommate in a TENT.
Problem #3: The only adult in this entire place apparently had no idea what was going on and seemed, if possible, even more clueless than they did.
Problem #4: This extremely tall living embodiment of sunshine was staring her down with puppy dog eyes and lifting her off of the ground and for once, she doesn’t feel the need to call security, which is even more worrying than needing to call security in her opinion.
It’s so strange, though. Something about him makes her feel like she’s coming home after a long day’s work. And you know what? She is not about to take literally any familiar face for granted.
Except the e-boy. The e-boy is getting taken for granted. Sorry Masataku.
“It…it does rather feel like it’s been some time, doesn’t it? Ugh, we must all have collective amnesia…do you think we’ve been drugged? Wouldn’t that be frightful!” Try looking slightly concerned at the concept, Psalm. She smiles widely up at her acquaintance instead. “You’re silly. Don’t exaggerate so much, it’s not as if I even taught you anything. You could practically run my show for me. In fact, you should! I could use a vacation.”
She squeezes his hands, her smile so big it engulfs her face, before she frowns a bit and sighs.
“Unharmed, sure. But this isn’t ideal, is it? I’m growing a little worried, Miu-Miu…nothing bad will happen, right?”
There was certainly a problem afoot, and that problem was that he didn’t quite understand what about this unnaturally pale but lovely girl drew him towards her so much! It feels like there’s something missing, something about her that’s just not yet quite clicking! Has he seen her recently? For someone he feels he hasn’t met in a year, she also feels so familiar at the same time? As if not a single day has passed since they last cooked something together! Since the last time she taught him her brand of cuisine.
How long ago was it that he made her that cake in the shape of a rotting zombie brain? He doesn’t know, but he’s not about to let such a minor thing get in the way of his happiness! She was here and that’s all that matters! He almost feels himself getting lost in her eyes again..! Wait... Again..? No, that doesn’t matter! The only thing that matters is that she’s here and just seeing her again alights his emotions!
Hesitantly, he lets go of one of her hands to instead reach over for her face, gently resting his hand against her cheek, caressing it with his thumb... She feels so familiar too, and that excess of makeup is more than comforting to see! So she’s been holding out well, hasn’t she? That brings him more joy than anything else so far. A friend in times of peril... It almost feels too good to be true! But he’s not going to take such a situation for granted.
“Dreadfully terrifying, even! But if there’s anything I’m grateful for is that if what we have is truly amnesia they didn’t take away my memories of you. I would rain hell on the perpetrators if they had done so!”
He doesn’t even seem to mind or bother to point out the morbid comments she’s made. How could he? Those are part of the Psalm B. charm! Besides, he’s more than used to those. The comments actually earn her a slight laugh from him.
“Perhaps I will someday, but it wouldn’t be 28 Minutes Later without its spooktacular star at the very least supervising my performance!”
Then she brings up a concerning point and he knits his brows, his grip over her other hand tightening before a peaceful smile tugs at the corners of his lips.
“I would not allow any danger to befall you, Psalm-dono. You are beyond just one of my Masters. You’re my beloved friend, I would ensure your safety above all else, alright? Please place your trust and faith in me as I do mine in you. As long as I’m here, I shall protect you from the clutches of danger..!”
