i am looking through tennis abstract to answer an ask and noticed that jannik has held serve in 94.4% of his service games in 2026 so far. for comparison, john isner held 93.8% in 2018, which was the best serving season of his career. i don’t think people fully appreciate just how ridiculous jannik’s serving has been this year.
"If Charles Leclerc doesn't have bad luck then he has no luck at all" or whatever they said
this is the face he made when he said that sometimes lying is okay fdcjfdjbj he's so endearing it pisses me off
I'm so glad people are finally talking about 2022 post-loss uso jannik i truly believe nobody has ever looked as beautiful as he did in that press conference
he doesn't like to lose beautifully but im afraid he just does it so well!!!!!
tokito oda is on such a crazy run rn
I hope TO GOD people know Carlitos losing both Cincy and USO is TO BE EXPECTED. He will be out of match rythm. If you watched his doc in Netflix you will also know he will be insecure. He can win it all? He can, the likelihood is low, yet we know him. But I hope he doesn't get the "Jannik Sinner treatment" this fandom was handing out when JS was not having the best wimby days and everybody was crashing out, panicking and saying mean mean stuff.
Give. Carlos. Time. I BEG OF YOU.
he saw everyone freaking over the leaked photos and said don't worry he's still my number one
It's official. Carlos will play in Cincinnati.
I can't believe it after 4 months. We missed him so much and he's finally baaack.
The official announcement is right in this video. Cheers to drink !!! 🥂
I'm going to be able to say Vamos again. XD
Welcome back Carlos !!!
VIVA ESPAÑA!!! 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸
This picture is crazy 🔥
I love my married gay dad coaching team
Yui at the champions' dinner looking very elegant!
this is the most nothingburger sponsor heavy interview but these two answers
he also said he'd never wear skinny jeans so yay
I actually agree with Mino here. Let me add some more things I observed during the match:
(Disclaimer: I am not a pundit and I don't wish to be. These are my observations, stats and info I have collected from several sources and internet. I am also not a neutral)
One thing that everyone has already talked about is probably Zverev's serve, and for a reason. That guy was able to pull of an 80% first serve consistently throughout the match at 139mph, on the lines. Since the 2nd set, his ace count has gone up significantly and he ended up out-acing Sinner (14-17)
However the thing that none of us is actually talking about is his aggressive forehand. I haven't seen him playing such a forehand in my life, though at times he was certainly going back to his conservative approach. I am actually certain that anyone other than Jannik couldn't have defeated him today, and I can say that with facts.
I have said in my earlier post and I will say this again: Jannik and his team has to go back to improving their tactics against this version of Zverev. Until this Wimbledon, their previous strategy was working brilliantly against him however now the game is very different. Not to change a lot tbh but tweaking some things might make it easier for Sinner.
Now coming to Jannik. I mean we all have seen him doing the things he just did in the match right? But there were some things I wanted to point out today: serves and returns. Some mentions of shot selection as well. Let's go set by set:
In the 1st set, Jannik didn't play bad. Not at all, to the contrary both the players performed neck-to-neck. He could have taken a BP he had the opportunity to do so but he didn't. Hence it went to a tiebreak. Jannik played a beautiful dropshot on Zverev's set point and won the point. Sadly to his efforts he eventually lost the set (6-7).
Unlike several people who thought that Zverev has a chance to win this match, I was opposite. I knew that Jannik could find a solution and come back...what a fight he produced—
In the 2nd set, it went toe to toe again. Very thin margins. Both of them serving really well, especially with Zverev serving to the T very often. However you would see that Jannik had slowly started to return the points, taking it to 30-40 minimum. That effort beared a fruit in the tiebreak when Jannik broke him in the first point and was 3-0 up, later got broken but was ultimately able to close off this set into his favour (7-6).
In the 3rd set, we could see Jannik clicking everything together to produce a 75% 2nd serve return. At 3-3 Zverev finally got his break point chance on Jannik but couldn't convert. (Context to add: Jannik didn't face a single BP chance in his serve until this moment and as if turns out, this was the only moment in the match.. so 1/1 BP saved).
I remember Zverev falling down in this set and his serves got affected a little, nevertheless had just a teeny-tiny effect. Had to take a break and go back before the 4th set, after that he did improve. He later admitted in the press-con that he "hyper-streched his knee" due to which he couldn't serve properly. Be that as it may, Jannik broke him at 4-3 and served the set out (6-3).
One thing to confess, I probably haven't seen Jannik perform the way as he did in the 4th set of this match ever. Such aggression and focus. Phenomenal. He had a few BP chances but as we all know he is allergic to BP conversion (for legal purposes: it was a joke). At 3-3 he converted his BP and eventually won the set (6-4).
GAME. SET. MATCH. SINNER.
What makes Jannik truly apart from other players is his mental agility. His ability to stay calm in pressurising situations is what makes him the best, the world no. 1. True to his records, he is once again proved why he's the best returner on tour and that's the sole reason why he won the match. Nobody other than that level of returns could have won it against this version of Zverev.
Congratulations mi idolo. Always supporting him, even in the toughest phases. People have questioned Jannik about his health, his resistance to heat, fact that he didn't win either of the slams before this tournament and several things... and what better way to answer them than winning Wimbledon back-to-back. Becomes the 10th man to do so. Completed his 100th Grand Slam win on the very day.

“Carlos Alcaraz is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. After almost four months away from competition due to the right wrist injury he suffered during the Barcelona Open (Conde de Godó), the tennis player from Murcia is facing the decisive phase of his recovery with a very clear objective: to return to the courts at the Cincinnati Masters 1000, the last major warm-up tournament before the US Open.
The latest news from the world number two's camp is encouraging. Although Carlitos is not on the official list for the Canadian Masters 1000 , an absence that initially raised concerns among fans and experts, the decision is the result of a carefully designed medical and athletic plan. There have never been any shortened timelines, and there won't be now, when the worst is over.
Alcaraz's team has chosen to focus all their efforts on arriving in the best possible condition for Cincinnati, a tournament that begins in mid-August. Before that, he will need to be medically cleared, and the plan is for Dr. Ángel Ruiz-Cotorro to grant it this week. He saw him last Friday in Barcelona, and the impressions were very positive. The wrist is healthy, completely healed, and they will gradually increase the training load.
From the outset, both the player and his team emphasized that the absolute priority was to avoid any relapses that could jeopardize the rest of the season or even pose a serious problem for the future.
During these months, the work has been constant, although away from the spotlight. In the first phase, rest and specific treatment for the wrist predominated. Later, physical exercises, continuous running , and track movements without putting stress on the injured joint began. Controlled drills followed, and in recent weeks, training with a higher intensity has commenced, although still under medical supervision.
The decision to also withdraw from Montreal fits perfectly within that conservative strategy. The schedule left little room between his return to competitive play and the start of the Canadian tournament, so the risk of returning without sufficient match fitness was high. Cincinnati, a tournament that begins on August 13 (in exactly one month), offers a much more favorable scenario to gauge the true state of Alcaraz's wrist.
The tennis player from Murcia wants to be at the US Open. And his goal is to return to fight for the title in New York. He knows that playing several high-level matches beforehand in Cincinnati would be the best possible preparation. However, no one on the Murcia team wants to set a definitive date until they've confirmed that the wrist responds without discomfort to high-intensity training. The next two weeks will be crucial, and medical clearance will depend on his daily progress, without taking unnecessary risks. For Ruiz-Cotorro, the diagnostic tests are just as important as how Alcaraz feels when he starts hitting the ball hard again.
Whatever the case, Alcaraz remains eager to compete again. After a long absence, the player from El Palmar is confident that Cincinnati will mark the beginning of a new chapter in a season that started brilliantly before injury halted his progress. If everything goes according to plan, the US Masters 1000 will be the stage chosen for the highly anticipated return of one of the biggest stars in world tennis.”

Wow, this is the first time I've seen this video!
Jannik giving another interview in Spanish, in November 2025. He's pretty good, although he mixes in Italian sometimes, but seriously, he's quite good! And once again, he emphasizes that he'll speak better Spanish next year (which was supposed to be this year, but now he says it will be the year after), but the truth is, I notice that he speaks much better each time!
What I notice about Jannik is that he seems like a very self-demanding and perfectionist person, at least in the things that really matter to him, like tennis (obviously), but also golf and Spanish. I say this because he strives to do it perfectly, or at least to his own standards. He practices golf a lot, but he doesn't want to play with Carlos yet because he doesn't think he's good enough and doesn't want to make a fool of himself. That's why he practices so much.
It's the same with his Spanish. He still feels insecure and practices a lot (and it shows because his Spanish is becoming more and more fluent), and he constantly tells anyone who listens that he'll improve next time, even though every reporter he talks to always tells him "No no, you're doing great!". He wants to do it well, and he emphasizes that. I find it interesting and very endearing at the same time ❤️
