Gold Peg and Malarky made a show this summer in Stoke-on-Trent. Stoke was very fruitfull, and alongside a very vibrant body of studio work they’d been making over the previous months, they filled the show with all the detritus and treasure from the exceptional selection of car boots, wastegrounds, and shut down chinese restaurants. A lot of the work wasn’t just about being looked at, and really the show was all about the opening night. For example Malarky had hacked Streets of Rage and you were invited to duck into the savage wolf den to play it. Gold Peg had built a petrol gokart which needed some kind of inauguration ceremony: among other things it had a ceramic column and a watermelon tied on behind it, clearly designed for smashing. A goat was sacrificed. Cops were bribed. A great time was had by all.
