a soft sigh of relief and contentment fell from her lips as sawyer kissed her back. she didn’t think she could handle another person being scared of her mouth, another person pushing her away, another person not waning her. and yet…she still felt hollow. she kissed him harder, wrapping her fingers in his hair and ignoring the tears slowly streaming down her cheeks. maybe if she tried hard enough, maybe if she pressed close enough against him, she would stop feeling so fucking empty. “bed?” alex hummed against his lips, sliding her hands down his chest and toying with the hem of his shirt.
he remembered her vividly, from the curves on her body to the simple way her head turned in sync with his. it was almost as if they were together again, save for the tears that kept making their way into the middle of their kiss. he was absolutely aware of the problems with their current position, but he couldn’t help himself under her soft touch. his breath caught in his throat when she suggested moving and he took a second before slowly nodding, sliding his hands under her thighs and lifting her with him. taking the all too familiar steps toward her bedroom, he placed her on the edge of the bed and kissed her again, running his fingers through her hair and pressing his body against hers. his breath was hasty and his voice was quiet as he spoke against her lips, not realizing that what he was about to moan the wrong name, “eden...”
