“Pure chaos. Brutally strong, super fast, wildly unpredictable. Triggered by extreme emotions, they don't act alone since every Hyde has a master.” — Hunter Doohan
Hydes are chaotic and unpredictable, blindly killing anything they’re ordered to or feel the need to eliminate. This can be due to a territorial instinct or their insatiable bloodlust.
Once transformed, a hyde possesses superior degrees of strength, making them one of the most powerful beasts alive. A true apex predator.
Hydes are capable of incredible speeds, running so quickly that they can only be perceived as a blur to the human eye.
The stamina of a hyde allows for them to move and attack with little to no regard for exhaustion. There is no need for them to restore their energy over time.
The durability of a hyde goes unmatched, capable of withstanding various kinds of damage including repeated attacks from a werewolf as well as a bullet shot.
Their sense of smell is more enhanced than that of a human, giving them the ability to track their prey as well as determine the species of a person. The exception to this are psychics, who do not possess a particular scent.
Without a master, a hyde may suffer from paranoia and hallucinations as well as physical weakening. Shifting can exacerbate these symptoms, speeding up the deterioration process that can and will eventually lead to an early death.
While female hydes may last years without a master, less can be said for males, who can only last days to weeks.
Even with a master, transforming creates lasting damage to the body that can make living in human form more difficult. The symptoms include body aches and insomnia.
The bloodlust of a hyde is insatiable. In human form, signs of bloodlust can be high energy, irritability, emotional distancing and aggressive behavior. If the hyde doesn’t kill within an extended period of time, shifting can become involuntary and deadly violence is inevitable.
