ok so...HEAR ME OUT

remington and demetra’s mothers are sisters

I mean, obviously it doesn’t say it in the book, but royalty is related to other royalty most of the time

and...there’s a lot of royalty in pennyroyal academy so I don’t think everyone is related, but fro the sake of this, the queen of the blackmarsh and the queen of brentano are sisters

we barely see anything about Remington’s family or even demetra’s so anything could be possible

just. imagine their dynamic if they were cousins gawd

for example, it seems like they already knew each other (in the second book remington goes to the blackmarsh and like sure, it was for some king stuff, but they seemed close in their interaction)

I feel like there was a period when they didn’t see each other much before the academy, but once they began to reconnect, it was like old times

like the interaction they had in the second book (you know, when we see remington again and demetra is the only one that talks to him)

malora seems to rly, rly hate demetra

so, what if they’d all met before?

it’s not uncommon for royals to know each other

and malora already hung out with remington in the first book (this is actually canon guys)

again, she canonically hates demetra especially (this is shown in every single book)

so if malora hates demetra so much, it could be because demetra is cousins with remington, and they spent time together when they were little

which would make malora jealous (she was jealous of evie bc of this for christ’s sake)

or since they possibly have all met before, maybe malora and demetra were in some kind of fight

i mean, sure. remington and demetra could just be kinda friends

but i see them rly well as cousins!

and also remington being related to all these cool princesses is pretty neat

idk it makes sense (!!!)
