Tw: slightly u! Virgil. Mentions of eating disorders and break ups, feeling lonely and slight suicidal mentions, touch starvation.
Remus went down with Janus. He looked around and noticed that they were alone in the kitchen. He sighs softly in relief, glad he didn't run into one of the others. He doesn't know if he could stand them berating him again.
Janus hands Remus some food and Remus looks nervously at the sandwich Janus had given him. He had lost a little weight since he stopped leaving his room and he was scared to gain it again.
"Remus. You need to eat. You not eating is not only unhealthy for you, it is unhealthy for Thomax and the rest of us." Janus said softly, placing a hand on the dukes shoulder.
"I...I don't know if I can yet...I mean, maybe it's a good thing...me being on my own? Other than my thoughts spilling into the mindscape, everyone's been happier without me around, and maybe if I keep losing weight Roman will love me again? We can only wait and see." Remus tried.
Janus gave him an unimpressed look and handed Remus the plate, which he begrudgingly took. He went to take a bite of the sandwich before he heard voices coming towards them from upstairs.
Roman was anxious when he saw that Remus's room was empty. He needed to find him before it was too late. If his thoughts were strong enough to spill into Thomas's thoughts then Remus was in trouble.
He was filled with relief when he felt the thoughts ebb away before he realized what that could mean for his lover. He wouldn't duck out...would he? Roman asked himself. He didn't like the answer he got.
"We have to find Remus...make sure he didn't do something stupid." He told Virgil, voice nearly shaking as he tried to keep his level of nervousness down.
"Yeah, knowing him he already has done something stupid." Virgil countered, "but we should make sure he doesn't do anything else stupid."
With that, they head downstairs.
Remus quickly hides behind Janus, not wanting anyone to see him. He wishes he had enough strength to sink out, lay back in bed...he didn't want to be down here in the first place.
He hears Roman's voice and sinks lower, he feels arms around him and realizes that Janus is hugging him. odd...no one ever willingly touches me. Not even Roman anymore.
Remus hugs Janus back, feeling tears well up in his eyes as he realizes that this is the first time in months that he's had a hug, or any touch that wasn't accidental.
"Remus?" He hears Roman's voice and chokes up, tears finally spilling out. Roman hadn't actually talked to him in a while. He didn't know whether or not to feel relieved.
"I'm sorry...I'll go back to my room." He said softly, leaving Janus's embrace, "thanks Jan...I needed that." He starts walking towards the stairs before feeling his hand being grabbed. He turns with a shocked expression to see Roman, worry covering his face, holding his hand.
Remus, full of conflicting emotions, yanks his hand away as if he had been burned. He wipes his tears and turns away again.
"I'm sorry...you shouldn't have to deal with me Ro...I promise ill keep my thoughts contained in my room next time...and I'll let you go." Remus said with tears spilling down his cheeks. If he was going to do this...he shouldn't make Roman stay with him.
"What are you talking about? Let me go? Rem..." Roman asks softly before realizing what was going on. "You're...breaking up with me. Aren't you?" All he gets in response is a nod.
