Howdy! Totally unprompted but I have to ask: Thoughts on Doomsday?

There are two wolves inside me: the 12 yr old who saw the first Avengers in theaters and the 25 yr old who has too much respect for X-Men to see them in the current state of MCU.

It feels like they’re just checking off boxes instead of genuinely incorporating mutants into the story :/

But I’m curious what you think!

my thoughts are exactly the same as yours, pretty much. I used to love the mcu but I haven't seen a marvel movie since endgame. what annoys me the most about the x-men being in doomsday is the lineup--the ONLY woman is mystique??? really??? and there are, what, 5 women out of 26 characters on that poster? hard pass. maybe if storm, jean and rogue were in it as well, I would feel more optimistic about it. but I really have no interest in seeing the movie as it's being advertised right now and I think it's most likely going to be a mess.

I am glad cyclops seems to be getting his due, at least. and I hope my peepaws (charles and erik) get to be extremely in love.

So I started this sketch absolute ages ago (last November or so) but only got around to finishing it this past month. I was going through old sketches and this one drew me back in. I had a lot of fun last time I did a drawing based off an old painting (Fallen Angel for anyone curious), and this one was equally fun.

The original painting (posted below the cut), entitled "The Meeting on the Turret Stairs" was done in gouache by Frederic William Burton. Reading up on the history behind the image reminded me of my old art classes. I honestly kind of miss it and probably will do more of these down the line (open to ideas/suggestions!).

I'm not sure how popular Rogue and Gambit's Excalibur looks are. But I personally love them! The layers and overall style is super fun (and honestly looks pretty comfy). I also LOVED that Rogue's cape has a somewhat similar feel to the dress from the original.
