Less than an hour ago the twitter account GAINAX_WEST started wowing users of the site by tweeting in English clarifications over the Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt teaser they posted earlier today.

“ Thank you for follow over 2,000. We will offer something new with "Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt". And it will make you excited. “

“ And they are not pachinko. Not a pachislot. Not a social network game. Not Blu-ray. It will be officially announced on December 16. “

Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt aired on October 1, 2010 and since then was hailed by viewers due to its content and jokes, but also saddened some, due to the overwhelming silence that seemed to surround any possible continuation of it (as has happened with other anime projects before then).

Earlier today, executive director of MAGES and main producer behind the SciADV series (Steins;Gate, Chaos;Head) Chiyomaru Shikura shared on his twitter the launch of the website that will contain all information to the anime adaptation of Chaos;Child.

Punchline game pre-release show highlights!

Today April 23rd 2016, I ran into a rather interesting stream hosted on Niconico to promote 5pb’s upcoming videogame Punchline. The game is based on the anime series of the same title that aired last year, where players take the role of the protagonist -Yuuta Iridatsu- who’s present only as a wandering soul and has to work to get back into his body while also using his spooky influence to aid his beloved neighbors.

Most of the event covered gameplay by two voice actresses hosts that worked with the series ever since the anime adaptation: Marina Inue (voice of Yuuta Iridatsu) and Yuri Yoshida (voice of the talking cat Chiranosuke). 

The game works like a puzzle point-and-click with a security-camera-like perspective as the protagonist’s point of view. Players have four rooms to alternate from (each belonging to one of the protagonist’s old neighbors), but exploration must be done with caution as -alike in the anime- too much exposure to female undergarments leads to a meteorite crashing onto the Earth. Afterwards several staff members were introduced and some rather interesting games Yoshida played. One involved identifying orange juice among three unidentified alternatives (turns out all the alternatives were the same type of grapefruit juice). Another involved having Yoshida balance herself as long as she could on a balance ball while her co-host tried to answer trivia questions. And last -but not least- a “guess what’s in the box” that Yoshida also took part of.

The Punchline game comes out by the end of April 2016.
