Decided to draw fanart for Shuten Order and specifically of the Science Route due it featuring my favorite characters in the game! Absolutely love the entire game but Rei, Teko and Ku are definitely my favs!

Here's the timelapse of my Umamusume drawing! Hope you enjoy!
So I've been playing Umamusume and decided to draw my favorite characters together. Though it was surprisingly difficult to narrow down the characters and even then, nine characters in a single drawing is no small feat.

It's been a while, but here's an Ado Poster I designed for art school!
Plus video discussing my art school projects:
So Sumikage has completely taken over my brain, so I obviously had to draw them. This drawing is based on the times where Yugamu offers to perform examinations on Takumi and Takumi's doubtful reaction to the offers, since I thought it would be a fun way to show off their dynamic.
Happy Birthday, Tsukasa! For the occasion I wanted to draw Tsukasa again and ended up deciding on drawing him in my favorite hair and outfit combo for him, plus chibis of his school uniform and his Wonderlands x Showtime uniform. I've started learning japanese and I can say basic sentences so far, but I didn't know how to write what I intented, so I had to look it up online. If I got everything right, it should read "Happy Birthday, Tenma Tsukasa!". I mostly just added it in to fill the empty space though.
And here is the project I've been working on behind the scenes for a couple of months now! My VTuber is quite different to the usual artstyle of many VTubers, which did create its own unique challenges when making him, but I'm very happy with the final result. I don't plan on live streaming as of now. I just plan on adding him into my usual videos for now.
Here's the full showcase:
So I've been dealing with exam season and working on another project which I'll share on my youtube soon, but those things did keep me away from working on art for a while, so sorry about that.
Onto talking about the drawing. I haven't drawn Kiana in a while and when I saw the new battlesuit of her, I just knew I had to draw it, especially because of the eyes, the stars in them look so cute. I was wracking my brain for a bit, trying to come up with an idea for the pose and such, when I remembered that for Kiana's previous battlesuit they had her do the iconic pose of the Honkai Impact app icon during an event. So I decided to draw the newest battlesuit in this pose aswell, though I don't know if they actually made her do this in-game, since I haven't been keeping up with the events and main story recently.
Another year, another Makoto birthday drawing. I celebrate this man's birthday more than my own, so I'm a little tipsy right now, so excuse any spelling mistakes or nonsense sentences in this or any comments I write. Because the last drawing took so long, I just wanted this one to be nice, simple and cozy. While the improvements from last year's drawing aren't as apparent as the previous year's improvements, I'm still happy with the progress I made. And I hope to continue improving in the coming year.
Recently started playing Project Sekai and it doesn't take a genius to guess my favorite character. For context in the game, you can get different cards of the same character, which features them in different outfits. It was very difficult to narrow down the versions of Tsukasa I wanted to draw to just seven. Though as you might guess drawing seven detailed characters in one drawing takes a long time. This is by far the digital drawing, that took me longest to finish (30 hours).
Normally when the time on a digital drawing exceeds twenty hours, I just want it to be over already. But with this one, I felt motivated the entire time, so I guess getting to stare at Tsukasa helped me maintain motivation. Also no clue why, but during this drawing I finally figured out how to render crystals and metal, so that's some nice improvement.
So the Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai Star Rail collab recently released. Sparkle and Vita are the focal point of it, so I wanted to draw them together. One of the images I've seen for the event looks a bit like they are inviting eachother to dance (probably not what's actually happening, but whatever), and it inspired me to draw them dancing. I also thought that considering both games' settings and Vita's abilities, dancing among the stars is defintely possible for them, hence the background.
Honkai Impact and Star Rail designs are very detailed and with my thicker lineart, I didn't think that drawing every detail would look good, since it would just blend together and muddy it. So I simplified some of the details. I also adjusted the way I normally draw eyes a bit, because I thought that their unique eyes were an important part to recognize them.
So I wanted to do a direct comparasion between my current art and my old art. I chose this drawing because, the original is about a year old, so some improvements will definitely be visible, but it's definitely a fair point of comparasion. The obvious changes are the thickness of lineart and the more detailed shading, but I also noticed a change in the proportions of how I draw. You can see it especially well when I just finished the sketch.
The size of the head is smaller, but it's also taller instead of wider and the body is bigger in comparasion to the head. Basically the way I draw characters has changed to be slightly more mature-looking, because Makoto does look a little bit more his age now in my style. I'm very happy with this development, because I somewhat disliked how childish characters looked in my style, because that wasn't what I was intending (completely fine if others prefer that for their artstyle, but it's just not what I'm trying to achieve), so I'm glad that my artstyle has gotten closer to what I'm trying to make it.
Honestly I've never been happier with my own art before, because I feel like I found a nice balance between a cute, exaggerated style and my characters still looking their age. The change was gradual, so I didn't notice the change until I did this redraw. The direct comparasion really makes me appreciate how far I've gotten.
Here's the original for comparasion:
Speedpaint:
So while I played Persona 3 Portable when it came to newer consoles, I also recently played Persona 3 Reload, since it brought a lot of new addition to the game. The good thing is that because of Reload I now have a great idea of the scale of things, which made getting everything proportional in this drawing a lot easier. Ken and Koroamru are my favorite characters in Persona 3, so I obviously wanted to draw them. Though it was quite the challenge to get Koromaru to look accurate, since I don't draw animals often. Minato/Makoto (I use Minato for the MC) is there both because I thought he looked very fun to draw and because having someone to compare Ken and Koromaru to helped me keep all the proportions correct. He was basically used as ruler to measure the differences in heights.
Going to quickly clear up why I haven't been posting as much. I recntly started going to a new school, after graduating from my previous school. Not sure if this kind of school is a thing in other countries, so quick explaination. It requires me to do an internship for the first year and it's more like a highschool, but like college you get to choose a major. Going to a higher level of school and my internship has taken up a lot of my time, hence the slowed down upload schedule.
But my major is art, so I'll be able to have time at school to study the fundementals of art to improve the illustrations I make and post here. The new school is stressful and takes up a lot of my time, but I'm happy with it. I'll try and find a good balance between school, my internship and my youtube channel.
Anyways onto actually talking about this drawing. So I watched the I'm In Love With The Villainess anime and found it very fun. I wanted to do a drawing similar to those cover illustrations for jrpgs, you know where the main characters have their full body drawn and the side characters are drawn around them. This did mean drawing a lot of characters and this drawing taking a really long time. Though I still enjoyed working on this.
I also tried out a new technique for the shading. I drew saturated lines onto the edge of the shadows. This is to add more interest to the shading and colors, plus it just looks fun. I also found that it makes the shadows more crisp and stand out more, so yeah, I'll definitely keep using this technique.
I recently watched SPY X FAMILY and wanted to draw some fanart. I really wanted to draw Loid, but told myself that I'm not good at drawing very masculine men. Once I realised I was trying to stay in my comfort zone and not challenge myself, I decided to atleast try. I made sure to draw the eyes smaller and make the head smaller than usual, which makes him look more his age. He still looks a bit cuter and younger than he is in the anime, but I'm still happy with the result, because I don't want to abandon my artstyle completely.
So here's the context for this drawing, major Danganronpa spoilers by the way. Ren-Damien has Dissociative Identity Disorder, like me because he's a representation of me. There's more than just two personalities, but the two that are focused on most are Ren and Damien, which is where the name Ren-Damien comes from.
At the end of the Trigger Happy Havoc killing game, Ren is brainwashed into becoming a Remnant of Despair. The Remnants of Despair are a group of people, who were brainwashed by Junko into believing that they should desire despair and to inflict despair on others through absolutely terrible actions.
Keep in mind only Ren was brainwashed. Remnant of Despair Ren's perfect idea of expierencing despair is to c@nnibalise Makoto. This is because if he does, he'll first become as close as possible to someone, he cares about, by literally consuming him and then he'll lose Makoto, since he won't survive that.
So while Makoto is working at the Future Foundation, he has to help find and capture the Remnants of Despair since they are a threat. Makoto has already been informed of who the Remnants of Despair are, so he knows to be careful. This drawing is the moment Makoto sees Remnant of Despair Ren. The reflection in the shattered glass is supposed to represent Makoto's fears and Remnant of Despair Ren's desires. Also yes, the injury in the reflection is censored, because I didn't want to draw it. It's a lot more violent than just a bite.
