While not a skill exclusive to the members of Clan Hallowbranch, the study and application of shifting forms is something drilled into the minds of hatchlings from the moment they enter the care of the Broodkeeper. Once a dragon has mastered this skill, they can change between their forms with a rather amazing speed. The skill is so prized among the members of Clan Hallowbranch, that one may not pass through the traditional rites at their coming of age if it has not been mastered.

The appearance taken in humanoid form seems to draw from the appearance of the dragon’s true form. Colouration, height, and body types have all been observed following similar suit. Many dragons will also tailor their attire, hair, and other aspects to have some semblance of their breed and original image. For example, the female/identifying Skydancers of Clan Hallowbranch are renowned for receiving tattoos which mirror their beastial form’s decorative antenna upon coming of age and completing training in the various arts of battle. Many keep their hair cropped short or shaved on the sides to show these tattoos when in human form and a Skydancer who lacks these tattoos, once of age, is considered incomplete and will often become a pariah.

Many dragons choose to remain in Anthropomorphic forms for the better part of their lives. This can be for numerous reasons and depends, naturally, on the disposition of the dragon in question. Some find it easier to complete tasks specified by their roles in the clan in a humanoid form. It is known, however, that Nestings are never to be performed in this state - In order for a successful Nesting to occur, a dragon must return to their natural form. The process will also force them to remain as such for a length of time afterward. It is also common practice for battles of any and all sorts to be waged in dragon form.
