Photography of the Grand Central Terminal 100 Year Anniversary - New York City
One of the grandest buildings in New York City, the Grand Central Terminal is as relevant today as it was when it first opened back in the beginning of the 20th century.  Today we pay tribute to one of the most amazing landmarks of New York City: Grand Central Terminal. We’ve had a love affair with this beautiful building from the moment we arrived in New York many years ago. Grand Central Terminal survived many These astonishingly beautiful black & white and sometimes sepia-colored photographs have something dauntingly beautiful.  The effect would be difficult if not impossible to repeat today. The terminal used to be filled with sooth from the trains and quite a bit of tobacco smoke.  In addition, light can no longer beam in because of the numerous tall adjacent buildings that now dwarf Grand Central Terminal.  Still, it is nice to try to imagine what it felt like to stand in those beautiful beams of light that we see in old photos such as these.  Wish we had a time machine!  Enjoy some of the most beautiful black & white photographs of Grand Central Terminal; an icon of New York City architecture!ups and downs in the last 100 years. Yet, it looks better than ever; especially on the inside!

Nightscape Paintings by Stephen Fox
Stephen Fox (born in Richmond, Virginia, in 1957) is a veteran Photorealist painter whose work blurs the lines between the documentation of an observable place and the quiet filter of the artist’s sensibilities.
I am primarily a painter of the contemporary nighttime landscape, places brought into a state of relative quiet as human activity diminishes and the bathing light of the sun is replaced by artificial lighting or the moon’s silver glow. In these familiar places gone partially dark and less observed, the landscape takes on some of the attributes of a theater set, certain objects or areas thrust into definition by the unintentional vagaries of interacting light sources. It is a world of light and shadow in constant movement, as something as brief as the passage of a car can suddenly transform a formless world into a living canvas of color and chiaroscuro, there for a few moments before receding into darkness once again.

VW Cars Compressed into Perfect Spheres and Cubes by Ichwan Noor
Dear boys and girls,
This is a friend of mine. Her name is Yanna. She was my publicity vice-chairperson in a student organization. She’s the current secretary of my college council. And now, she is the victim of a threat of rape and murder.
She is now a statistic of the millions of Filipinos now at risk of vigilante justice in the streets of towns and cities across the country, thanks to the new trend of extrajudicial killings that is spreading everywhere after the new President, Rodrigo Duterte, called for a “shoot-to-kill” war on drugs and criminality.
The person, who also calls for rapists, murderers, drug addicts and pushers, and other petty criminals to be killed, just waged the same kind of criminality on a person who has done nothing else but fight for what is right and maintain the basic human right of being able to attain due process.
She doesn’t deserve to be raped or murdered. No one deserves to be raped or murdered.
I ask you all to report this account on Twitter: http://twitter.com/bromanceMD for threats of harrassment and harm. Look for this picture with this caption and select it as a reference for the report. This may not solve the problem as a whole, but it is a small but significant step against vigilante justice in the Philippines.
Thank you.
