I went to film my first video tape also knows as VT. Our concept of the VT was to get more information about the Conan Doyle collection at Portsmouth museum. Conan Doyle was an author famous for his Sherlock homes books and we got cut away footage and an interview from someone that worked personally with the collection we was filming about.
When we first arrived at the museum the first person we intend to film didn't turned up to the shoot. When we tried to get in contact with her she didn’t answer but we thought on our toes and got an interview by one of the staff member that worked closely and was familiar with the collection.
For our second VT we had to create a location video and get various cutaways and a moving piece of footage. My group are basing the videotape on South sea beach, were we will go into how the beach was used in later years and the development of the beach in recent years with tourism.
Me and my group for my second video tape discussed who we would film for our interview, which we decided we would go into the more marine side of Portsmouth sea life. So we decided that we would film a marine biologist student and get more information on what lives in Portsmouth waters and how they are currently being polluted.
Today we filmed our cutaways for the location video tape 2, we got moving cutaways of the beach, the pier, the animals such as swans, mallard and seagulls. We also got footage of the waves, housing around the area and walking passers by. We decided to separate the days to film cutaways and the filming of presenter and interview because we felt as though this allowed us time to really focus on the task at hand.
Today we filmed out vt2 interview piece again along South Sea beach in which we incorporated the moving camera piece along the beach. After filming we then went to Eldon building to save the footage onto the computer and edit together. I don’t particularly enjoy editing but the more I do it and use the avid programme the more I get used to it.
For my first radio piece we had to create a local news magazine programme in a group of 4 students. Decided to a radio show that covered a serious topic about cyber bullying and opened up a disscusion on whether we felt as though parents had a big part to play with the controlling of phones. We interviewed a local teacher who had personal problems with these issues.
Me and my radio group came together to discuss ideas for the pre-recored piece. We decided on our main running theme which is cyber bullying within schools and whether we felt as though parents had a big part to play in the controlling of phones. We also discussed the interview in which we have to provide as apart of our work piece. We came up with ideas for the interviewee such as a local teacher, youth worker or parents which have had personal problems with these issues.
Me and my radio group booked out a radio studio session in the eldon building to get used to the different buttons and equipment we will be using when it comes to pre- recording our radio piece. We have all selected different roles within the group and I am a co- host and writer. I feel as though us going to the radio studio will make our final performance run smoothly as we have now had a little experience. Now when it comes to recording all we have to do it familiarise ourselves with the equipment.
Me and my radio group (blue) recorded our pre- recored piece and I believe it went very well. It was thoroughly enjoyable to record and I found the pieces where the work was roughly scripted felt more natural because the presenters didn’t feel the need to cover certain points. I really enjoyed recording the radio piece.
The form of this, is in Vlog form. So please enjoy the video of my elaborating on what we’re are doing in this radio session for our LIVE RADIO SHOW
