Blog for my original story 'Renegade's Redemption' and related works. // An ancient and cruel sun goddess and a traumatized protection deity with a martyr complex try to figure out their relationship with each other and humanity over 5000 long years. Content warnings posted on each chapter cover, reader discretion is advised.
She was the living and all-powerful embodiment of a life-giving sun. She was a cruel goddess, playing with and discarding mortals as it pleased her, until the bizarre nature of humanity gave her pause, and stirred new emotion in her chest.
He was a human hero, convinced his sacrifice would earn his loved ones a happily ever after-- until it didn't. Instead he awoke from a traumatizing death with a newfound divinity he never wanted.
Ruthelaine and Elian could not have been more different, but now they're stuck together with an eternity ahead of them, plagued by their respective consciences. Yearning for the way things used to be, neither of them are okay, but maybe they'll someday be better-- if they don't crash and burn first.

Chapter index and continued FAQ below cut.
You throw around ‘Noble Crown’ and ‘Noble Hallow’ a lot. What’s the difference?
Both Noble Crowns and Noble Hallows are types of gods.
A Noble Crown is an extremely powerful type of god. They are born from life-sustaining celestial bodies, such as suns and earth-like planets, and all possess the most powerful divine domain of Life. For this reason, Crowns are the only entities capable of bestowing immortality, divinity, or raising the dead. They also all possess a massive ‘birth form’, which takes less focus and energy to maintain than their humanoid form.
Rue, Arcturus, and Naruune are all Noble Crowns.
A Noble Hallow is a lesser god, typically created by a Crown to serve them or fulfill a role for them. A Hallow can also be a human or animal revived by a Crown and granted divinity, however this requires for their soul and biology to be fundamentally altered to make them immortal.
Zaya, Elian, and other gods born or raised after them are Noble Hallows.
Both Crowns and Hallows are able to killed, but do not age. They are capable of incredible feats of magic, far more than a normal human can ever dream.
When do you update?
I often take breaks to work on scripting or drawing pages, however I tend to update Monday-Wednesday-Friday. My discord server updates a day earlier, and my Patreon updates two weeks earlier.
What content warnings apply to these stories?
Both are very dark stories, and deal heavily in mental health with themes of recovery, redemption, forgiveness, and justice. Rue’s arc begins with her laying waste to human communities for fun, but steadily learning compassion and morality. It may not be a story for everyone. Please keep this in mind when reading.
Individual RR chapters will have their own warnings.
I don’t think I’m gonna be continuing the RR comic for a while. And if I do, I’ll probably restart it again.
But that doesn’t mean I’ve given up on the story, or that I’ve done no work on it these past several months. I’ve chosen to continue it in a written format. It will be available on Tapas, Royal Road, Scribblehub, and my Patreon, updating every two weeks on each site. You can search for it in those places, or check out the reblogs of this post.

Eldritchfell has about five episodes scripted, one episode fully completed, one episode half-completed, and one episode sketched. I’d like to have the script done up to the end of the Ruins, and at least three episodes fully finished before I start updating again, at minimum. I don’t like setting hard deadlines, so I can’t say when it will come back, but I’m pretty excited about this art!
Renegade’s Redemption… I HAVE been hard at work on it. But I’ve also been frustrated with how much progress I’ve made and how long it is, and how much worldbuilding I can or cannot fit into it. I’ve been experimenting with ways to get it out faster, so while it will resume, and probably a lot sooner than Eldritchfell, it may not resume in a comic format. I am very happy with the work I’ve done and been doing, no matter the format, I just have so many scenes and characters so far off that I want to get to even faster.
At any rate, tho I sometimes feel conflicted or frustrated, I’m really happy with both my projects. I just feel really good about them. 2021 was not a great year, but I did a lot that seems mundane that I’m proud of, both in my personal life and my comics. I’m starting to actually feel like an adult. I hope next year, I can take some of this energy and provide you all with something beautiful, entertaining, and thought-provoking.
Out of curiosity, I have a couple pages of the redone prologue already created. Which would probably prefer:
A shorter hiatus now and possibly longer hiatus later.
A longer hiatus now and definitelyshorter hiatus later.
Either way, I will be releasing the updated prologue before actual new pages, and may be decreasing how many pages I release each week for the prologue. (I definitely will do this if the first option is voted on.)
Probably gonna be at least a two week hiatus either way, so I can encourage people to subscribe to my patreon for early page viewing.
Motivation on this comic has been a little low, so I’m taking a brief hiatus until I have more pages complete. May finish a redo of the prologue before then.
Start ID: Elian holds out his bare arms, trying to turn the awkward situation into a joke as he asks “It look like I got any weapons on me?”
The Angra boys takes in this crazy, ridiculous and impulsive boy. There’s something about him…
He closes his eyes.
“Next week.”
Elian is surprised. “Eh?”
The Angra boy opens one eye, looking calmly, firmly, at Elian. “If you want a weapon to pass your rite with, then fight me. Next week. Close by the river. This time, don’t hold back.”
Start ID: Nania turns her attention back to the boy, holding out a hand. “Well-- since we both helped you bring down your monster, you need to give it to Elian. It’s only fair.”
Elian places his hands on her shoulders, smiling sheepishly and speaking over her. “Ignore her, you can keep it!” he says. “It was just a fertilizer rune and a bit of brawn! I’ve gotta carry Nania back, anyways-- I don’t think I can carry her and the monster!”
“Ellia… you’ll never be a warrior like this…” Nania mutters, but the boy overhears.
“Wha-- you still haven’t passed your trial? Made your weapon?” he asks.
Elian freezes up hearing this, while Nania smirks at him, seeing he’s been caught.
Start ID: The Angra boy fires the arrow, which seems to divide in air, several flaming bolts falling down to leave the beetle still and smoking as the boy lands on the ground again, and glances at the bug’s corpse over his shoulder; his expression neutral.
Meanwhile Elian is now at Nania’s side, holding her up as she lies prone. The blood covering much of his front smears on her face and clothes.
“Nia?” Elian asks. “You okay, you awake? Can ya talk?”
Start ID: Elian is the first to leap into action. Fuelled by pure adrenaline, he rips a leg off of the beetle’s body, blood spattering across his front. As the beetle stands destabilized, he body slams it again, flipping it onto its back. For a moment he stands backlit, as the Angra boy jumps up behind him, nocking another flaming arrow.
Start ID: Nania stands between Elian and the beetle, as it finally hoists the tree out of the soil. Before either Elian or the Angra boy can move, Nania is whacked by the tree trunk and thrown across the clearing, as both boys look on in horror.
“NANIA!” Elian yells, but the Angra boy only looks focused.
Start ID: On the ground, the beetle barrels into one of the trees in the forest, its upper horn piercing clean through and becoming stuck. Elian is thrown clear of the crash, as the Angra boy stands watching and Nania races towards them. She catches Elian and steadies him, watching with a vengeful glare as the beetle lifts the tree’s roots straight out of the soil. Clearly this won’t keep it trapped for long.
Start ID: Cut back to Elian, still desperate holding onto the massive hercules beetle. He thinks to himself, (Maaaaaaybe I was a little too impulsive…) then covers his nose with one hand, desperately hanging onto the beetle’s horn with his remaining arm.
(What’s that smell!?) he wonders, glancing back down towards the ground, then notices something. (? It’s turning around?)
